Twisted Fate: Severus and Lily Snape

Chapter One: Becoming Reality

It had been a few days. Lily had hardly slept. She kept crying out for James and Harry and than remembered Severus beside her. She looked over at him as he slept peacefully. She got out of bed and looked out the window. She thought Harry was dead. Severus said he was gone. She didn't know Hagrid took him to the Dursley's house. "Oh James. Harry.... I miss you," she cried hearing Severus get out of bed and come towards her. He cradled her in his arms pulling her back to bed. He held her like their lives depended on it. Lily looked at him. "Everyone thinks I'm dead?" She asked looking up at him. Severus nodded at Lily and stayed silent. He wasn't ready to let her go.

~Snape's POV~
"Lily... I.... I don't think you should let anyone know you're alive... The Death Eaters will kill you. You were supposed to die with James and Harry.... If you and.... Voldemort is dead.... Your love.... Death Eaters would take you from me," Severus choked out trying not to mention Harry Potter was indeed alive. Dumbledore had told him. He knew it was selfish to keep her from her son, but he wanted Lily. He couldn't stand that she had his nemesis's son. And he couldn't look at Potter. He looked at Lily as she glared at him and pushed from his arms. She left the room and he put his face in his hands. "She'll never be mine," he mumbled to himself.

Lily was mad. She grabbed her purse and went to Diagon Alley through Floo Powder. She went to Ollivanders wand shop and got a new wand. She wiped his memory of her and left. She got a job working at the Leaky Cauldron and found out Harry was alive. She was furious. When she returned to Severus's place he looked furious. She slapped him. "My son's alive and I'm not allowed to see him," she shrieked at him. He snapped and glared yelling at her, "You're not going to be seeing him. You will be killed. Never leave this house again or I'll chain you up in the cellar." Lily glared and finally softened realizing he was trying to protect her. "I got a job. At the Leaky Cauldron," she finally said. Snape softened. "Good. I'll be at Hogwarts soon and you can't come," he said realizing he couldn't keep her locked up. He wanted her to love him after all.
