"You can't be serious. Crouch was caught..." Though Lily wasn't at Severus's home currently it was still like she could hear him speak. But he wasn't there and she couldn't hear him. There were two Death Eaters sitting in the bar having almost the same conversation Lily had left. She bit her lip. One of the Death Eaters almost saw her. She'd whipped around the corner just in time. A voice spoke to her. "Lily?" The man asked. "No..... It couldn't be," he mumbled something incoherent and looked away and back at her. Lily looked at the man. "Can I help you?" She asked. It was her job to work. The man shook his head and walked towards the brick wall leading towards Diagon Alley. She watched him pull out his wand and poke the wall. She walked over helping him tap in the right way and than he was gone. She leaned against the wall and breathed out hard. "Merlin's beard. Thank Merlin he was drunk...." She mumbled to herself.
Hours passed and Lily returned to the little home of Severus Snape. He didn't look so pissed with her when she walked in. She went into the kitchen and made dinner for two. "Sev. Dinner," she called. Severus shuffled in quite quietly. "How was work?" he asked in his usual cold drawl. "There were Death Eaters.... And a drunken man almost saw me...." Lily told Severus. He looked displeased with this news and ate his meal quite quietly. That was how the next few months lasted. They were quiet and sat through small talk only.
After a while Lily and Severus relaxed with each other. Lily was promoted and moved from the Leaky Cauldron. She worked elsewhere making good money. She and Severus started dating and were soon engaged. She never forgot James or Harry. She just chose to move on with her life. She would go watch Harry from afar every so often. She got very exciting news one day. She and Severus were having a child. She told Severus they would have a little boy or girl and he was pleased.
