We were in Australia for the women's World Cup 2023 and my team, England had just won our match against haiti which we were absolutely buzzing about so we all decided to go to a nearby club to celebrate on our win.
As I stepped in I was looking for my group with one of my best mates Leah Williamson as we did so we saw another group, it was the Australian women's team.
after a while a looking round for our teammates we eventually found our group which was sitting on a table opposite from the Matilda's table.
I hugged everyone and caught up with them a bit.
I was zoned out as I looked at the Aussies table there was this girl with brunette hair, blue eyes and she was so perfect I could not keep my eyes off of her.
I got snapped out of my trance by Alessia hitting me on the arm.
"y/nnnnn are you thereeee." she said.
"yeah sorry." I apologised.
"what were you looking attt." she questioned me.
"nothing sorry just zoned out." I replied.
"hmm.. sure you weren't looking at a certain Aussie who happens to be my teammate?" she teased.
"what no!" I quickly said trying to make her unsuspicious of me but it clearly didn't work.
"you know I can just bring her over here for you." she told me.
"no! I meant no you don't need to bring her over." I said.
"if you say soooo." she said with a smirk.
"anyways I'm going to gets drinks who wants what?" I said excusing myself from the conversation with Alessia about the gorgeous Aussie on the table opposite us.
the girls all told me what they wanted and I headed up to the bar to order for us.
CAITLIN'S POV:
"hey macca." I spoke.
"yeah, everything alright cait?" she answered.
"yeah everything's fine but there's just this girl whose sitting with the england girls she cannot keep her eyes off of me and she's well pretty as well, she's just gone up to the bar." I ranted at her.
"ooooo has my girl got a little crushhhhhh." she teased.
"shut up!" I said as I playfully hit her shoulder.
"whose got a little crush?" Alanna tuned into our conversation.
"Caitlin does!" Mackenzie replied.
"and whose that lucky person?" Alana asked.
"the girl over by the bar, she's with the england girls." macca told Alanna.
"you should so go over to her Caitlin!" Alanna spoke excitedly.
"I don't know I'm scared of what she'll say." I said nervously.
"don't stress about it babe you'll be fine." Alanna reassured me.
"okay I will thanks lans." I said thanking Alanna.
I got up from my table and went over to the pretty girl who'd been staring at me non stop.
Y/N POV:
I told the bar tender the order and I was just waiting for him to make our drinks when I felt a tap on my shoulder, it was the Aussie from earlier.
"hey gorgeous." she spoke.
I could feel my cheeks burning bright red.
"bit flustered are we? seen you looking at me all night." she spoke again in her Australian accent.
god how can a person even be this perfect.
"no- ." I said but she placed a finger on my lips.
"shh.. just give me your number already." She said.
"okay its (phone number)" I said still flustered by her actions.
"thanks pretty, gotta go back to my team now but will definitely be calling you later. She said winking at me.
"okay, will speak to you later then." I said back to her.
she walked off and I could not believe what had just happened.
the bartender gave me my order and I brought it back to our table. Clearly there was still a blush on my cheeks as when I said down I was immediately questioned by Alessia.
"why are you blushing so much what's happened?!" she questioned excitedly.
"uhmmm you know the Aussie girl from earlier well she came over to me and asked for my number and stuff." I said still blushing.
"I KNEW YOU LIKED HER." Alessia said a bit to loudly because when I looked over to where the girl was she was smirking at me.
"shush less the whole club doesn't need to hear you." I said giggling.
"ugh go away y/nnn." she said jokingly.
