Claire's Pov
The station was far larger than I had imagined and the undead that was within the wall of this building stood to be far less than the amount that were outside these walls. I could count the amount of zombies I slaughtered since I had been on the inside and my stomach churned with each kill. It was actually sad that I was comparing outdoors and indoors when the entire situation was rather toxic.
I was still in partial shock as to just what had really occurred because what I referred to as zombies were once people. It was horrific to believe one minute you were watching the TV and the very next you were a part of the undead crew. I shuddered at the thought.
Whenever I walked by a blocked window I could hear the creatures crying for my blood, some even forced their filthy hands and arms through small spaces. I stayed as close to the wall as I possibly could, my gun in hand.
It felt as though I had been going for hours now and truly I was, my feet were now begging me to take a small break. I leaned against the wall and took a deep breath, it would be nice to take said break. I dipped in my pocket and reloaded my gun for what felt like the first time since I had been inside the station.
I was yet to find the ammunition I needed. My clothing was not as wet as before but they still felt odd against my skin and the wall helped in no way.
I kept moving, with the living nightmare I landed in I had to keep moving if I should survive.
It was quieter than before here, my eyes on the room that had the largest amount of light. It was without a door, my gun raised the moment I made entry. It was a little bit warmer in here, the room filled with cardboard boxes, papers and clipboards. I believe this 'little room' stood to be the file room.
I took laboured breaths, my eyes on my black boots.
I could not help but to take in the half decent appearance of this room. It was currently without a stench and far warmer. I ran my tongue over my lips, my fingers locked into auburn hair.
I took a deep breath, my eyes on the vent in the corner of the room, staring at the object actually gave me a solution to a small problem. I removed my jacket followed by my black blouse, my eyes scanning the entrance of the room. While I was eager to get out of wet clothing I had to remain alert.
I placed the clothing to the vent that was providing some heat. For the sake of unpleasant surprises I kept my jeans on while I paced the room patiently. I was slightly dehydrated regardless of how little I thought of it.
I dismantled a cardboard box in order to make a small seat on the floor. I could use a shower and some fresh clothes at this point, my stomach hissing her frustration in the form of a growl.

I jolted awake, my hand on my chest as I stared at the entrance in horror. I was surprised to find that I was without flesh wounds and somewhat normal. It was beyond me how I found the time to sleep in the midst of this but now that my clothes were dry I was driven to start moving again.
I made my way to the end of the hall and at the tip of metallic stairs. I was begging to hate this unwanted adventure, my back against the wall as I listened for odd sounds before mounting those stairs. I ran up the stairs and into another semi dark passageway, the silence was rather loud.
If you haven't quite figured it out, silence was far worse than unbearable noise in the midst of this mess.
I felt a little better now that my clothing was dry and I got a small amount of sleep which was a risk in itself. I was frozen the moment the entire building shook and there was a loud bang, my hands on my head upon instinct. I had to learn what caused that explosion.
When there was a hand on my shoulder I turned right into Leon who seemed far calmer than I was.
"It's good to see you Claire" he greeted as he stared at me. While he spoke of some amount of joy I was yet to see it on his face.
"You too rookie, what the hell was that?" I asked and he finally released my shoulder.
"I believe something just crashed into this building" he stated as he began moving, his gun before him. Crashed? Here I was believing that we were in the midst of an earthquake.
I was ready to stop, drop and roll. No wait, I believe that was done in the case of being lit on fire.
I followed Leon's lead, our bodies growing warmer the closer we were to the source of the explosion. Leon was absolutely correct, it was a helicopter that had crashed into the building and now it was aflame.
I used my hand to shield my face slightly as I stared at the explosion.
"Oh my god" my free hand gradually lowered to my lip, there could not have been any survivors. Leon did not vocalize it but I believe he was thinking the very same thing.
Leon's gaze then moved to the fuel on the floor, his hand on my arm in a rough manner. There was no instruction needed, we ran as far away from that thing as possible, our bodies being thrown onto the cold floor the moment it exploded. Leon covered my body as all sorts of things flew over us. I should not be thinking about it but the hand that held his gun was rather close to my hip and it felt good.
I had not compared our bodies in such a manner but now that we were this close, I could not help but to feel as though we 'fitted' perfectly. No, what the hell are you thinking Claire? Under normal circumstances this would have been your brother's coworker.
I said nothing, Leon straightening his posture slowly.
"Are you alright?" He asked as he was the first one on his feet, a hand reached towards me.
"Besides my skin in these jeans after our dive sessions? Yeah, I'm good" I stated as I brushed my jeans off. I felt slightly disturbed by a helicopter that could have possibly been our rescue exploding in mid air.
"Do you think they were taking survivors out of the city?" I asked and Leon's eyes moved to me.
"I don't think that was a transport chopper Claire" and just like that Leon dimmed the small hopes I had. I took a deep breath and shifted the bangs from my eyes.
"Well, I guess we need to keep moving" I stated as I followed Leon's lead with my gun raised.
