I need a drink or fifty

Madison

After grabbing takeout from the Chinese place around the corner from our apartment, we headed home with Valentina joining us. I walked into the apartment, hung up my keys, and removed my heels by the front door. I'm regretting the decision to go out tonight. I would rather take a hot bath and throw on comfy clothes.

We sat around the living room and filled paper plates with different foods before digging in. I didn't want to overeat and deal with the aftermath later. Chinese tastes better going down than coming up. But I didn't want to drink on an empty stomach, either.

"I can't wait to show off my moves on the dance floor." Valentina danced in her seat while eating.

"As long as no guy is dry-humping, we're good," Michael said.

Valentina rolled her eyes. "Listen, here. I'm twenty-three, which makes me an adult. If I want a guy to dry hump me, I will."

"Can we not talk about a guy dry-humping you?" Michael screwed up his face and stuck out his tongue.

"You started it." Valentina shrugged with a smirk.

My siblings were something else.

"Can I borrow a dress for tonight?" Valentina asked me.

"Yeah. I'm sure I have something in my closet you can wear."

"Awesome."

"Nothing that shows legs or cleavage." Michael waved his fork at us. "I don't want to beat off horny guys tonight."

"That's why we'll find a horny girl for you. She can keep you busy."

I shook my head and finished my dinner before showering. I stood under the hot water and thought about my life. I'm a single, twenty-five-year-old woman who lives with her twin brother. What has my life come to?

I sighed before washing my hair and body. I shaved the stubble from my legs and underarms. I didn't need to disgust a potential match tonight. However, I didn't have high hopes.

After finishing, I dried off and searched for a suitable dress that wouldn't give Michael a heart attack. Valentina had already ransacked my closet to find a cute little number to wear. I grabbed a dark blue, knee-length dress with spaghetti straps and put it on. I slipped my feet into matching shoes before fixing my hair and makeup.

I left my dark red hair in soft waves while applying minimal makeup. I prefer a more natural approach to my makeup. Plus, who was I trying to impress?

I grabbed my ID and credit card and shoved them in my bra so I didn't lose them. I left the bedroom to find Michael and Valentina waiting for me.

"Ready?" Michael asked.

"Yep.  Let's go." Valentina was the first one out the door, with Michael and me following her. My sister had no shame in her game.

Michael ordered an Uber for us, so we didn't need to worry about drinking and driving. Our family would kill us if they found out we drove while drunk. That's if we survived an accident.

We arrived at Mally's and headed inside to music playing and found an empty booth.

After sliding in, Axel came to the table and set napkins down. "The usual?"

"You make it sound like we come here often," I said.

"Madison, you and your siblings are frequent flyers at my bar. I even named a drink after you three."

"That makes us special." Valentina smiled and winked at Axel.

Axel returned Valentina's smile. "More than you know." He left to grab our drinks.
