Madison
I sent Issac the addresses of the different venues so he and Lily could meet me there. I waited in the parking lot when a car pulled next to mine. Isaac got out and approached me.
I glanced around but didn't see Lily. "Where's Lily?"
"She had to work and sends her regrets."
"Maybe we should wait until she's available to join us."
"It's fine. Lily is quite busy." Issac waved me off.
How is a bride too busy for their wedding? Most brides want to know every detail. Trust me. I've dealt with bridezillas from hell.
We entered the venue and met with the manager. She showed us around as Issac checked out the interior. The venue was an elegant setting for a classy wedding. Clients with an absurd amount of money choose this setting to showcase their wealth to family and friends. It was my job to ensure the wedding didn't embarrass the couple.
Issac checked out everything before dismissing the manager and escorting me from the venue by my arm.
"What are you doing?" I asked.
"Making a decision."
We stopped at our vehicles.
"Didn't you like the venue?"
"No, it was too stuffy."
"Okay, but it's elegant and classy. What's wrong with that?"
"So many things."
I raised my brow.
"Next!" Issac climbed into his car.
I blew air past my lips before sliding behind the steering wheel and driving to the next venue.
We arrived and parked. A woman greeted us with a tight skirt and revealing cleavage. She wrapped her arm around Issac's arm and dragged him inside while flirting with him. I waited near the entrance while the woman dragged Issac around while giggling and flirting with him.
Call me weird, but an employee shouldn't flirt with the groom. It's pretty unprofessional.
Issac finally had enough and peeled the woman's octopus hands from his arm before rushing me from the venue. I didn't bother to question his reason for turning down this place.
We drove to the next venue and entered. The manager let us wander around the garden to visualize a wedding.
"Why would anyone get married in a garden?" Issac asked, touching a neatly trimmed bush.
"Some couples like the tranquility." I shrugged.
"Do they also like bugs?" Issac raised his brow.
"I'm sure the venue keeps the bugs away." I rolled my eyes.
"Look at this place, Madison. It screams prune me. I can't get married in a place with plants. I'm not a botanist."
"Okay. I have a few more places we can check out today."
"Lead the way." Issac extended his hand to gesture for me to show him other venues.
I thought bridezillas were terrible. They had nothing on groomzillas.
I showed Issac the next venue. He hated it. The fifth venue was no better. Each venue I showed Issac was met with disapproval or thumbs down.
After visiting ten venues, we called it a day. Try, try again tomorrow. I returned to the office to cross off the venues Issac didn't like, which was everyone I showed him.
