I wake up in my new room, sprawled out in a large bed. Since I crashed straight into bed after arriving, I figure it's time to explore a bit. I glance around, noticing two doors. One leads to a spacious bathroom stocked with toiletries, thank goodness. The other opens up to an empty walk-in closet. Guess I'll have to fill that up eventually.
After a quick shower and teeth brushing session, I realize I'm stuck wearing yesterday's clothes. Oh well, gotta make do for now. I decide to check out the rest of the house, so I head out of my room and down the stairs.
As I wander around, I find myself in the kitchen where a bunch of people are chowing down on breakfast. I figure they must be my siblings or something like that. Time to introduce myself, I guess.
I stand in the doorway, feeling a bit nervous as I muster up a small
"hi"
to the group seated at the table. All eyes turn towards me, but the room falls silent, the tension thick enough to slice with a knife. I silently curse myself for not being more prepared for this moment.
Thankfully, Salvatore, nah his name is a mouth full so Sal will do anyway he walks in behind me, emitting a subtle cough that breaks the uncomfortable silence. Instantly, all eyes shift to him, a collective sigh of relief washing over the room.
Sal steps forward, taking charge of the situation like the older brother he is.
"Hey, everyone,"
he begins, his voice carrying a tone of authority and warmth.
"I'd like you all to meet Lilith. She's our sister, and she'll be staying with us from now on."
There's a collective nod of acknowledgment from the group, but one of them can't seem to contain their disapproval, letting out a subtle tsk. Sal shoots them a warning glance before turning back to me with a reassuring smile.
Sal takes it upon himself to break the ice further.
"Alright, folks, let's do introductions. Lilith, why don't you take a seat? We'll go around and introduce ourselves."
"My name's Aurora,"
the girl to my right chirps with enthusiasm, flashing a radiant smile that instantly lights up the room. She's stunning, with her long, flowing black hair framing her face and those deep brown eyes that seem to hold galaxies within them.
"I'm not related to any of these crazies, except for him."
She gestures towards a man sitting nearby, his black hair tousled and his brown eyes piercing, adorned with a rugged stubble and tattoos peeking out from under his sleeves.
Taking a quick scan around the room, I notice that most of them sport tattoos, except for Aurora, who seems like a breath of fresh air among the inked-up crowd. But when our eyes meet, time seems to stand still, and I'm momentarily captivated by the sheer perfection of his features.
I'm jolted out of my trance by Aurora's next words, delivered with a hint of playful menace.
"Thank goodness there's another girl here now. If I had to live with these boys any longer, I might just snap and end up killing one of them. Oh I'm 19 by the way!"
I can't help but let out a small giggle, feeling like we'll get along well. But deep down, there's something more stirring within me, something sparked by the intensity of that brief eye contact with the most handsome man I've ever laid eyes on. But i choose to ignore it I'm not doing this again I can't.
Before I can delve too deep into my thoughts, the guy beside Aurora speaks up without so much as a glance in anyone's direction.
"I'm Vincenzo, second oldest, and I'm 22"
he states matter-of-factly, his rugged appearance hinting at a penchant for trouble, what with the cut lip and black eye.
He gestures toward the man Aurora claimed as her brother.
"And that's my best friend,"
he adds, drawing my attention to the mysterious figure.
Finally, the man I've been eyeing introduces himself as Leonardo Ricci, his voice carrying a magnetic quality that sends shivers down my spine. I nod in response, feeling a strange mixture of fascination and apprehension.
Turning my gaze towards the last unfamiliar face in the room, I freeze for a moment. He's a mirror image of myself, but in male form. It's downright eerie, sending a shiver down my spine as I realize just how uncanny the resemblance is.
"And I'm 20,"
Leonardo adds, breaking into my bewildered thoughts about the uncanny resemblance with the last guy. His simple statement pulls me back to the moment.
And then the last guy introduces him self
" I'm marco "
there's a long pause before he adds
" and unfortunately im your twin".
As Marco drops the bombshell that he's my twin, a wave of disbelief washes over me. Seriously? A twin? My mind reels as I try to process this latest curveball life has thrown my way. It's like my existence is a twisted soap opera, with each new revelation more shocking than the last.
I mean, let's recap here. First, my long-term boyfriend cheats on me with my supposed best friend. Then, I end up with his brother that ends in an accident. And if that wasn't enough drama, my mom takes her own life because my dad walked out on us. Just when I thought things couldn't get any crazier, I get kinda kidnapped, only to find out my whole identity is a lie. Now, on top of all that, I have a twin brother I never knew about? Seriously, what even is my life right now?
Sal shoots Marco a look, silently scolding him for his lack of tact. But honestly, I couldn't care less about Marco's attitude toward me. I don't even know the guy, and I've got bigger things on my mind than worrying about winning his approval. Plus, he's giving off weird vibes for no apparent reason. Like, seriously, dude, what's your deal?
I let Marco's comment slide for now, too drained to bother with unnecessary drama. But something tells me dealing with him is going to be a whole new level of complicated. Great. Just what I needed.
