Earlier that day

Chris looked at his brother, sitting across from him. He was talking to Jimmy Z about something. Chris stood and pulled on a jacket before going out into the cool night breeze. He walked to a nearby tree and looked out over the cliff Jimmy Z had picked to land the Tortuga.

He stood there for a few minutes, thinking about Zach and Junior. He and Zach had been getting along since they started talking instead of arguing. Lately, he could smell Zach's smell all over the house. His Alpha side loved the way his mate smelled, but Chris didn't know what to do about that.

He heard steps coming up behind him, and he looked around and saw Martin walking towards him, "What's up, bro?" Martin asked, and Chris sighed.

"Just thinking," he said, sitting down, and Martin sat beside him.

"About Zach and Junior?" Martin asked, and Chris nodded.

"Wanna talk about it?" Martin asked, and Chris ran a hand through his hair.

"I can smell him now," Chris said, and Martin frowned. I can smell that we are mates now. He stopped washing in the suppressant anymore. He smells so good to my Alpha side. It's hard to resist. I feel like a family when I'm with them." Chris said, and Martin looked over at him thoughtfully.

"You miss them," He said, and Chris nodded.

"I do; I can feel the pull towards Zach when we're near. It's hard being away," Chris said, and Martin nodded.

"Why don't you have them come on creature adventures with us?" Martin said, and Chris raised his eyebrows at him.

"Zach doesn't do creature rescue, and it would be unfair to ask them to leave their home to travel around the world with me," Chris said, and Martin patted his brother's shoulder.

"You'll know what to do when the time comes; by the way, we leave to drop you off in five minutes," Martin said, standing and heading into the Tortuga.

Chris took one last look at the view and went back to the shop. The door closed behind him, and the Tortuga took off.

"Hey, Chris," Aviva said, coming over to him.

"Aviva," he said, not cold but not friendly either. The female inventor had been getting on his nerves lately with the 'I am your omega' act.

"So what are you doing for Christmas? Martin wouldn't tell me where you're going." She said, and Chris frowned at her.

"Why?" He asked, stepping away from her.

"Just thought we could spend it together," Aviva said, and Chris shook his head.

He walked away from her and went over to where Koki and Martin were sitting.

"Hey Chris, you think Zach would be OK if we spent Christmas with you guys?" Martin asked, and Chris thought for a second.

"I don't think he'd mind; you guys could come by tomorrow and stay for Christmas," Chris said, and Martin cheered.

"I get to spend time with my favorite nephew," he cheered, and Chris laughed at his brother's antics.

They dropped him off at Zach's house and flew off. He entered the house and noticed that no one was in it. He figured they would be in the lab and went there. He knocked on the door, and about three minutes later, the door opened, revealing Zach holding a sleeping Junior, making Chris's Alpha heart a little jolt at the sight of them.

"Hey," Zach said, and Chris smiled wide. He looked at Zach for a minute before looking down at Junior and running his hand through his hair. "How was the rescue?" Zach asked, and Chris felt like Heart was doing summer squats at the fact that Zach asked.

"It was fine. Donita was using the mannequin bots you built her to steal baby panthers and make headwear," Chris said, playfully glaring at him when he mentioned the bots.

He noticed Zach's faint blush and wanted to run his hand over the omega's cheeks. Zach looked away, and Chris chuckled. They went into the house, and Zach placed Junior on the couch. "We can decorate the tree when Junior wakes up," he said, and Chris nodded, pulling presents out of his bag and placing them under the tree.

"Are we going to decorate the tree now?" A small voice asked. Chris looked where Junior was lying on the couch.

"Sure," Zach said, and Junior jumped off his lap and ran to the box decorations. "I get to put on the first ball," he declared.
