BEATRICE WOKE UP LATER than her normal 7 o'clock, and she somehow instantly knew today was the day. it wasn't the lack of demigod nightmares that usually plagued her dreams, nor the fact that she wasn't woken up by her siblings running around the cabin screaming and cleaning while silena inner perfectionist came out while yelling commands. mariella needed to have the cleanest cabin so she could shower first, so the cabin had to be sparkling by the time the cabin inspector came around.
while bea and her siblings might be children of aphrodite, their cabin wasn't always the prettiest. some kids had piles of clothes lying around, or just very messy bedsheets from people who bundled up during chilly nights like they were going into hibernation. silena woke her up amidst the chaos, and after realize she finally had a good night of sleep, she immediately realized what she needed to do.
beatrice got up, made her bed, got ready as quickly as possible, and started helping the others clean up. she did not want to make silena mad, as an angry silena is a scary silena. she giggled at a pair of young twin girls as they tried to stuff their extra clothes underneath their shared bunk bed. bea soon heard a knock on the door, which meant the inspector was here. thankfully this week's cabin inspector was Annabeth, one of her best friends, so hopefully she will cut us some slack. beatrice opened the door for her and welcomed her in.
"hey annie, how'd you sleep?" she asked.
"i slept well, thanks! is your ready for your inspection?"
"well i don't think we will ever truly be ready, but this might be the closest we'll ever be."
"well, it looks clean enough, so you won't get last! you get at least a 3/5, which is already better than the hermes cabin's 1/5... so i'll give you guys a 4/5, pretty good!"
"thank you so much, beth! by the way, i think today is the day....." beatrice whispered to her. chiron, annabeth, and her all knew this day would come soon and so they were prepared for when it did. while the trio knew someone special was going to come, they also knew the kid's arrival would happen around the same time beatrice would leave to bring her brother to camp. annabeth and beatrice weren't sure who this new "special" kid was, but chiron had shared a few details so the pair would know who to look out for. both girls were waiting for this day because they knew there would be a quest, and the duo would force themselves onto it, whether whoever the prophecy was about liked it or not.
"oh my gods, you feel it too?? iI thought the same thing when i woke up this morning.... meet me after breakfast so we can talk to chiron about this, okay?" annabeth says.
