Dan paced back and forth as his thoughts raced. He needed to find a way to figure out if Maggi actually was the villain. Henry had been watching, but he hadn't asked what it was about. He knew that Dan usually needed his space in that kind of state. He paused when a light shown threw the clouds. If Maggi was truly evil, why try to befriend the good guy? He couldn't see any appeal to it. If anything, she should be avoiding him! He sat down next to Henry and put his hand in his hands.
"Has Maggi seemed off lately?" He asked, tentatively. Henry shook his head slowly.
"Not that I've noticed...But I have been a little space-y lately."
"No, you haven't been space-y. You have just had a lot on your mind. I mean, we've yet to see these new villains. If they are even real! We don't even know if the text was real or not. Could've just been a hoax by some bored teenager." Henry nodded.
"No, you're right. But still, I haven't been the best of friends to her lately. Nor the best boyfriend to you." He said the last part in almost a whisper. Dan smiled sadly and shook his head while engulfing his boyfriend in his arms. Henry heaved a heavy sigh out. Dan felt a little dot of wet begin to pool in the crook of his neck and stroked the head of hair before him.
"Please, babe. You know I don't ask anything from you. If you aren't in the right head-space for romantic dealings, then by all means, I won't ask it of you." Henry shivered. Dan placed a soft kiss to the top and squeezed tight. "I don't mean to change the subject, but has it ever crossed your mind that Maggi might not be telling us something? Like she might be hiding something?" Henry nodded into Dan's neck.
"Of course she is. Her best friend of...I don't even know how long, just turned out to be someone she had no idea of! How would you feel if I turned out to be a supervillain? It would probably shock you." Dan took that into consideration. But with all he knew, with how she reacted, he couldn't excuse the thought from his mind. It just had too much weight to it.
"I feel like I need to ask again. I didn't get a clear answer last time. I approached her a few days ago and asked if she had known all along that Sabrina was Captain Night. Her face got all dark and her tone grew so icy. It was like she was trying to make me wish I hadn't said that." A puzzle piece clicked together. He looked to the ground trying to find where it went. "Making me wish I hadn't said it....." He trailed off. If she was innocent, why would she want to make him nervous, scared even. But then at that thought, his died in its tracks. She was probably scared. Hurt even. He cursed himself. She was probably just beginning to trust us! Dan nearly groaned out loud. He didn't want to believe that his accusation was based on jumping to conclusions. He sighed. "I'm going to apologize tomorrow. I'll make things right." Henry looked up.
"Tomorrow, yes. But for now, cuddles." He burrowed his face in Dan's neck and Dan leaned into it.
"Can I carry you to the couch?" A grunt came and Dan picked him up. Settling in a way that placed Henry on top of him, he wrapped his arms around Henry's waist.
"Do you need anything, Love?" A noncommittal noise came from his throat and Dan let out a breathy laugh. "Just sleep. I know you need it."

Dan didn't know when he had fallen asleep, but when he woke up, he found himself in bed with Henry sprawled out in his arms. He closed his eyes again, without realizing that Henry was awake.
"Oh no you don't. I saw that." Dan sighed.
"Of course you did." He mumbled. He moved to sit up, but was stopped by Henry's arms.
"Noooooo, stay!" Dan kissed his forehead before continuing up and getting ready for the day. He realized he was still in the clothes from the day before. Henry must have flown them to bed after cuddling on the couch. When he got back into their room from doing morning things, Henry was sitting up and rubbing his eyes.
"Love, we have school." Henry groaned.
"Why? we don't even like it there." Dan sighed, exasperated.
"We are graduating in a few months now. Calm down and get ready. I'll work on some food." He left Henry to get ready and moved to the kitchen. He got two bowls down and filled them with the dumb Exodus brand cereal that he bought to be ironic. When Henry came out of the room, dragging his feet as he went, he sat down at the island and spooned the cereal into his mouth.
"Why do you even buy this? It's not even good!" Dan chuckled under his breath.
"I know, but it has your face on it!" Dan smiled slyly. "Your cute, serious face." Henry blushed, but tried to hid it with the bowl. Slurping down his own, Dan glanced at the time. They still had a few minutes until they had to be in the car. Dan smiled when he saw that Henry had a strand of hair sticking up straight. Dan walked around the counter and smoothed it down. Henry leaned into the touch making Dan lightly laugh. They finished their food, put away their dishes, and got into the car on the way to school. They lightly talked on the way there, but mostly rested in a comfortable silence. The school was already crowded when they got there. The halls crawling with fake people who have each said a nice thing to Henry since finding out he's Exodus but never had before that. He searched for Maggi and wasn't sure if he was annoyed or relieved that he hadn't seen her. He had no idea what he was going to say to her. He went the whole day without knowing and he only finally ran into her in the parking lot after school. She was walking swiftly in the other direction and Dan tossed his keys to Henry.
"No not drive, but stay here until I get back, please?" He ran off after her. He didn't realize where she was going until he saw the warehouses start to pop up. She moved surprisingly quick for such a small person, at least, compared to him. He rounded the corner and saw her about to enter a building.
"Maggi!" She whipped around, a frantic, scared look in her eyes. That is, until she saw who was there. Her eyes turned hard and guarded.
"What are you doing here?" Her voice had a warble to it, like she had something she didn't want him to see, but that might have been his imagination.
"I wanted to apologize for not trusting you. I didn't mean it and I realize how awful it was. I know you've gone through hell the last month, and I'm sorry." Maggi's guarded demeanor softened, but her eyes stayed hard.
"Thank you, apology accepted." She stood there as if expecting him to run off. He waved and met expectations. He ran back to the car, to Henry, but the whole way he was thinking of what she could possibly be doing at an abandoned warehouse.
