Hyunjin's POV

Today was just not a good day for me. I was in a mood for some reason, ever since I woke up, and I didn't really know why.

Well, actually I did know why — it was the 15th.

Y/N's 100th day anniversary with Duck Hoe.

She had been talking about it since she came in for her shift this morning, and she seemed really excited for a whole date and dinner that she was planning. I couldn't help but smile at how dedicated she was, making sure that everything fit together so her surprise would be perfect.

I rolled my eyes as she continuously spoke the name that I was growing to dislike, but I hid my distaste because she was so happy today.

"Daeho's going to be out all day today with friends, and I will, too," She explained to me, fretfully decorating a cake on top of the counter in between customers, apparently not having time to do it before. She must have been really busy preparing for today if she was only now decorating a cake.

I tilted my head to watch as she guided the piping bag in swirling motions across the surface of the cake, biting her lip and holding her breath to focus. The frosting came out in perfect pastel dollops, creating a border around their initials in the middle.

I sighed and wondered what Daeho was doing for Y/N today if she was doing all of this for him.

"Since Changbin gave me a few hours off for our anniversary, I'm going to be pretty busy getting everything perfectly ready for today, so I need you to deliver the bouquet that I ordered to my place." Y/N picked up a piping bag of pink frosting and started a wavy border around the bottom. "Neither Daeho or I will be there, so just get the key from under the mat and lock it back when you leave."

"You have your key under the mat?" I stuck out my pinky and attempted to swipe it across the thick line of frosting as I scoffed, "That's typical."

Y/N swatted my hand away to protect her finished work of icing art with a scowl on her face.

I yelped dramatically and pouted, looking back and forth from her to the delicious frosting longingly.

She tried to hold in her laugh, but an amused giggle tumbled out of her and she finally smiled, shaking her head and piping a small dollop on my finger. "Fine, here then," she spat playfully, feigning annoyance.

I didn't really want the icing; I just wanted to break the stress cloud that had settled over her and make her smile, which she hadn't done as often as usual today, despite how excited she was for all of her plans to play out.

After licking the fluffy pink goodness off my finger, I changed my mind and grabbed the bag of white frosting that she wasn't using and piped more onto my finger. "Ooh, that's really good~"

Grinning, Y/N turned to look at me as she finished with the cake. "Do you think so?"

"Mmm-hmm," I nodded in affirmation, piping a messy dollop of frosting onto my pinky and holding it out to her. "Taste it."

Dipping her head without a second thought, she took my finger into her mouth and sucked off the frosting with a heart-fluttering motion of her tongue.

My breath caught in my throat as she seemed to hold my finger for longer than necessary — or maybe it was just my imagination, which was going wild right now.

My jaw dropped open in shock as she drew back and met my stunned gaze with calm, shining eyes. Tilting her head at me curiously, her brows furrowed as if she didn't know what was wrong.

I tried to speak, but nothing would come out of my throat as my mouth only opened and closed repeatedly.

I dropped my eyes to stare at my finger, my other hand flying up to cover my racing heart. I didn't expect her to actually do that... but wasn't that what I wanted? Why was I blushing and my heart beating so fast, then??

I felt something flutter in my stomach as I blinked at where the icing had been.

"Oh, that is good, but I have to go!" Y/N exclaimed, licking her lips to taste the last of the icing.

I gulped.

"Could you drop off the bouquet now? You don't mind, right? Thank you so much, remember that the key is under the mat, just leave it inside the door," She blurted out, and she spoke so quickly that I almost didn't catch most of it as she snatched her keys and her bag off the counter.

Finally, I was able to speak and managed to squeak out an affirmation. "S-Sure, of course."

My eyes followed her figure as she left, rushing out the door and leaving the cake on the counter. I put it away for her, still in a daze as I took the bouquet and made my way to her home to drop it off.

...

I stepped up to her door, trying to balance the large vase of tulips in my hand, using my other hand to knock on the door. I waited for a second, then gasped lightly.

"Oh, right, the key is here, I don't have to knock—"

I was about to set down the tulips down to retrieve the key from under the mat, but the door swung open before I could reach down for it. I glanced up, meeting eyes with a tall brunette with large blue eyes. She smiled slightly, bringing her hair over her shoulder and raising her eyebrows in polite annoyance.

She rolled her eyes at me, as if I had rudely interrupted something, and I immediately concluded that she wasn't as pretty on the inside as she was otherwise.

Who was she? Y/N's sister? But she didn't look like Y/N... I scrunched my nose at her. I didn't like her very much already.

She noted the tulips apprehensively before forcing out, "....Can I help you?"

I looked her over in confusion and stepped back out of instinct. "Who... who are you?"

 who are you?"
