UNSPOKEN WORDS
📍Uncle Jah's Home

Bianca Azuni Rowe
15 years oldBianca's eyes fluttered open to the soft morning light filtering through her curtains. The event of the previous night weighed heavily on her mind, casting a shadow over the new day. She laid in her bed for a moment, staring up at the ceiling as she tried to gather her thoughts.
The sound of laughter drifted up from the living room below, a stark contrast to the heaviness in Bianca's heart. She knew she couldn't avoid Dayvon and the boys forever, couldn't keep running from the feelings that threatened to overwhelm her.
With a resigned sigh, she pushed herself out of bed and made her way downstairs. The smell of breakfast greeted her as she entered the kitchen, her uncle Jah standing at the stove flipping pancakes with practiced ease. The boys were gathered around the table, their voices rising and falling in animated conversation.
Bianca's heart skipped a beat as she spotted Dayvon among them, his dark eyes sparkling with laughter as he exchanged jokes with the others. She felt a surge of longing wash over her, a yearning to be a part of their world, to feel the warmth of their friendship enveloping her.
As the boys' laughter filled the air, Bianca felt a knot form in her stomach. She knew she had to talk to Von, to clear the air between them, but the thought of facing him filled her with a strange mix of fear and excitement.
With a deep breath, she approached Dayvon, her heart pounding in her chest. She waited until no one was looking, then cleared her throat nervously. "Can we talk?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Von glanced up, his eyes meeting hers for a brief moment before he nodded silently. Without another word, he rose from the table and motioned for her to follow him.
She followed him as he made his way upstairs, her heart racing with anticipation. She didn't know what she was going to say, only that she needed to talk to him, to apologize for her behavior.
Once they reached the top of the stairs, Dayvon stopped and turned to her, his expression unreadable. Bianca's heart sank as she saw the guarded look in his eyes, the walls he had built around himself.
For a moment, they stood there in silence, the weight of their unspoken words hanging heavy between them. Bianca opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. She felt a surge of frustration wash over her as she struggled to find the right thing to say.
Dayvon watched her for a moment, his eyes softening slightly. He could see the look of defeat on her face, the pain and uncertainty that clouded her eyes. And in that moment, he knew he couldn't stay mad at her, couldn't hold onto his anger any longer.
"Come with me", he said finally, his voice gentle but firm. Bianca's confusion only deepened, but she nodded silently, trusting him to lead the way.
