"How dare you, a member of the Yang Tribe, consider starting trouble on my Li Tribe's turf?" Whisper's face hardened as he responded to the advancing group led by Yang Justbear, showing no sign of weakness."Are you from the Li Tribe?" Yang Justbear's eyes narrowed, and his spiritual energy intensified as he advanced menacingly. The surging spiritual energy swirled around Whisper like dancing flames, exuding a palpable pressure that bore down upon him."Hmph, you're just an ordinary mortal. Even the elders of the Li Tribe would give me some respect. And you? Merely a dog the Li Tribe keeps, still unaware of your place, are you?"Under the intense pressure of Yang Justbear's spiritual energy, he concluded that Whisper was merely an ordinary person. If Whisper were a cultivator, he would surely display his own spiritual energy in response to such provocation, rather than remaining so composed.By now, the confrontation had attracted a large crowd of onlookers."It seems like someone from the Yang Tribe," bystanders identified Yang Justbear and his companions by their attire."Is that Yang Justbear again? How dare a young master from the Yang Tribe act so arrogant in our Li Tribe's marketplace?"知情者 murmured, knowing him to be a spoiled, idle youth."This young man is going to suffer. Yang Justbear holds a high position in the Yang Tribe and is also a cultivator..." Onlookers shook their heads in pity, none daring to intervene, wary of Yang Justbear's influential background."Who's causing trouble here?" Two guards responsible for the marketplace's security rushed over, swords drawn, escalating the tension."I'm merely teaching a lesson to an undisciplined subordinate of your Li Tribe," Yang Justbear boasted arrogantly, his demeanor domineering.Recognizing Yang Justbear, the two patrol guards found themselves in a difficult situation. With their authority, they dared not offend him easily, fearing that mishandling the matter could ignite conflicts between the two tribes. "You there, state your name and occupation!" One of the patrol guards, recognizing Yang Justbare's influential status, redirected his aggression towards Whisper."Just call me Li Whisper." Whisper replied calmly. The guard mentally searched for Whisper's name, finding no significant background attached to it, and thus concluded that Whisper was an ordinary mortal without power or influence."Whisper, do you realize who you're messing with? This is Yang Justbear, the young master of the Yang Tribe! Hurry up and apologize to him, kowtow if necessary. Given that you're also a member of the Li Tribe, we might consider sparing your life!" The guard sternly warned, clearly taking sides with Yang Justbear. The gathered crowd shook their heads and sighed; commoners often found no protection before cultivators, even when dealing with fellow tribespeople."Son, why don't you kneel and apologize? You can't afford to mess with this guy!" Someone in the crowd couldn't help but advise Whisper, unwilling to see him suffer due to a moment's impulsiveness.Yang Justbear snorted coldly, basking in his sense of superiority and enjoying the feeling of being looked up to.At this point, the situation was heavily skewed against Whisper, the ordinary youth who, because of one retort, was seemingly forced to humble himself publicly.Meanwhile, Yang Justbear only needed to flash his status and unleash his spiritual energy to make anyone, regardless of whether they belonged to the Li Tribe, submit to him. This bolstered his confidence; he believed that Delight, if she were wise, would know which side to follow."Why should I kneel? This is the marketplace of my Li Tribe. It is you who should be kneeling. If you prostrate yourself to me right now, I can forgive your insolence." Whisper spoke with a smile, his gaze deep and composed, delivering his words with unwavering resolve.Upon hearing these words, the entire crowd erupted into an uproar, hardly anyone expecting someone to openly defy Yang Justbear in such a manner! "Ai, youth today have no idea of the immensity of heaven and earth, nor do they understand the virtue of yielding!" came a voice of regret from within the crowd."Yes indeed, acting on a fleeting impulse could lead to lifelong regrets that are impossible to mend."The crowd seemed to envision the terrifying scene that would unfold under Yang Justbear's wrath. For an ordinary person with no background, enduring a brutal beating would be considered light punishment; they might even lose their life, and if fortunate enough to survive, could end up maimed, destined for a miserable existence for the rest of their days."Don't harm Whisper! I'm willing to kneel in his place. Please don't hurt him!" Delight realized that no one was coming to Whisper's aid and stepped forward fearlessly, fearing for his safety.Yang Justbear's gaze grew increasingly frigid as his spiritual energy swelled around him, exuding an oppressive aura that made everyone present shudder with fear.Hearing Delight speak up like this, his heart turned icy. Even at this juncture, how could the woman he cherished still defend this good-for-nothing?"Hmph, knowing full well who I am, you still dare to act so audaciously?" Yang Justbear sneered repeatedly, realizing that if he didn't retaliate against such provocation, others might soon trample over his authority. This matter pertained to dignity and power; he felt compelled to take decisive action. The two patrol guards exchanged glances, and one of them whispered to his partner to fetch the captain for support, acknowledging that the current situation was beyond their control."Young man, pay the price for your arrogance and ignorance!" Yang Justbear finally struck, condensing spiritual energy into a fist that darted towards Whisper's abdomen with lightning speed. The attack was as swift and fierce as a beam of light, too quick for any ordinary person to trace its path. Many couldn't bear to witness the impending brutality and closed their eyes.Yet, throughout it all, Whisper remained unflinching, his eyes cold and composed as he keenly observed Yang Justbear's assault."Judging from the intensity of his spiritual energy, he should be a mid-stage First Order cultivator, slightly higher than my own level.""However, his spiritual energy quality isn't high; he likely possesses D-grade talent and lacks diligent cultivation—truly embodying the epitome of wasteful potential..."Remaining exceptionally calm, Whisper ignited his own spiritual energy. Utilizing a cultivator's exceptional reflexes, he swiftly evaded the incoming attack. In the wake of Yang Justbear's attack, Whisper sprang into action within the blink of an eye. He subtly raised his right foot, initiating a fierce kick that drew surging spiritual energy from around him, coalescing it into an incredibly condensed vortex at his toe tip, brimming with ferocious destructive force.Upon witnessing Whisper counterattack, Yang Justbare was left wide-eyed and stunned. He hadn't expected Whisper to actually dare resist, let alone the realization that the other was also a cultivator!"Hmm?!"He sensed something was dreadfully wrong, but it was already too late.Affected by the recoil of his own force, his body lost balance, tilting forward, exposing a massive gap in his defense. The next instant, an overwhelming surge of powerful spiritual energy crashed into him."No, please don't!"Bang—In the flash of lightning, Yang Justbear's calf bone bent backward like a bamboo pole snapped by immense strength, twisting at an alarming angle. Accompanied by a muffled explosion, his lower leg fractured, sending shards of bone and bloody mist spraying everywhere."Aaaahhhhhh!" He unleashed an eerie wail, the excruciating pain almost causing him to break down.Yang Justbear could no longer maintain his composure or stance. His face twisted in agony, fortunately, one of his close attendants quickly caught him, preventing him from collapsing disgracefully to the ground."How dare you injure our young master!" Upon seeing this scene, the remaining three subordinates, amidst their shock, charged at Whisper together.Though mere mortals, they were rigorously trained and, when united, their combined strength rivaled that of初级 cultivators."Causing chaos in Li Tribe's marketplace is courting death!" But Whisper was not an ordinary cultivator. His past life's wealth of practical combat experience granted him superhuman fighting prowess. With a crisp crack, he infused spiritual energy into his palm, effortlessly snapping one man's neck.Swiftly following, he threw a punch, delivering a precise and ruthless blow to another's face, crushing his nasal bridge. A mixture of red and white fluids oozed from the man's facial features as he crumpled to the ground, his fate uncertain."What kind of monster is this?" The last remaining man stared agape, looking at this opponent who merely radiated an initial stage first-order cultivation aura yet displayed a terrifying strength far beyond reason.Faced with a choice between life and death, he chose survival without hesitation and fled madly. However, Whisper's gaze was as cold as frost as he lifted a finger toward the escaping third man, like a leopard locking onto its prey."Swoosh!"An instantaneously condensed bolt of spiritual energy transformed into a sharp beam, shooting forth from the tip of Whisper's finger.Puchi! The heart of the fleeing individual was pierced in an instant, blood spurting out before he collapsed to the ground, lifeless.Within mere seconds, three bodies lay sprawled on the ground, convulsing violently.Even Yang Justbear's cries of agony abruptly ceased amidst sheer terror, as the awe-inspiring impact of death overshadowed physical pain!"You..." Yang Justbear's voice quivered, sweat drenching his clothes, as he vividly experienced the proximity of death."Causing trouble in Li Marketplace warrants death!" Whisper pronounced his judgment coldly.Nonetheless, he refrained from delivering a fatal blow to Yang Justbear and the last remaining man. After all, Yang Justbear wielded formidable backing; a severe lesson was enough. Although his leg injury was grave, with precious spirit medicine, it might heal completely. As for the mortal subordinates, according to the marketplace rules, those who instigate fights are subject to the death penalty; their deaths were咎由自取.The onlookers were all stunned, unable to believe the scene unfolding before their eyes."What's going on here?" The captain of the patrol team rushed over, arriving at the sight and feeling a headache coming on.He could deal with the deaths of a few mortals, but the real issue was the severe injury inflicted upon Yang Justbear from the Yang Tribe, which posed a thorny problem."I've just helped you guys solve a minor issue. No need to thank me," Whisper nonchalantly smiled, his words filled with indifference. The crowd was speechless, thinking to themselves that this wasn't solving a problem but creating one instead."Whisper, this name... Is he a new cultivator?" Someone silently remembered the name, aware that Whisper was a character not to be trifled with."Incredible! Even as a first-order initial stage cultivator, he managed to defeat a first-order mid-stage cultivator with a single strike!" Another cultivator discerned the truth and admired Whisper's prowess.Ultimately, Yang Justbear, supported by his subordinates, dejectedly left the scene. Fear had sealed his throat entirely, rendering him too afraid to utter another word, lest a single syllable provoke Whisper and invite a deadly retribution. In his eyes, Whisper was akin to a bloodthirsty and ruthless demon lord, instilling dread in all who beheld him.Although consumed with hatred in his heart, he wisely chose to endure, stealing a glance at Whisper with a resentful glare before departure, vowing to etch the image of the latter's face deep into his memory."When I report this to my father and grandfather, hmmph! A mere first-order initial stage cultivator dares to humiliate me like this. For this debt, I'll make you pay a hundredfold!" Yang Justbear vowed viciously in his mind.Through this incident, Whisper became renowned overnight, imprinting his image and name indelibly in the minds of many.Delight too was stunned by the spectacle, never imagining that the usually gentle and refined youth concealed such ferocity beneath his demeanor.Yet, she was deeply grateful to Whisper, for Yang Justbear would likely think twice before ever bothering her again."I'm sorry, I've implicated you..." She whispered an apology, her guilt evident."No worries, I can handle it," Whisper responded with a casual smile. "Let's continue shopping. I still have a few items to purchase, and I need your advice.""All right!" Delight nodded, her heart swelling with newfound admiration and trust for Whisper.
