Y/N's POV:
After Deena went to see Sam, Kate, Simon, Josh and I went to the vending machine to get something to eat since we were all pretty much starving.
Being in Shadyside, work was hard to find and getting cash was slim. And the only other one of our friend group who had an actual job on consistency was Simon, so of course he was the first Kate went to ask for the money.
Kate huffed seeing that her pockets were empty, reaching out her hand to Simon. "Yo, Si-money. Cash me."
"Don't look at me, dude," Simon stretched out his pockets, revealing them to be empty. "I'm broke."
Kate glanced at me. "N/N?"
I looked in my pockets, which were empty as well and shrugged back at her. Like many in Shadyside, we struggled finding money. My mom refused to let me get a job and just focus on school. "Same here."
Kate sighed in defeat, but that's when Josh stepped in. I knew Josh long enough to know he probably had a trick up his sleeve. He pressed a few buttons on the machine and nudged it, making all the snacks fall from the shelf with a smirk on his face.
Josh crossed his arms against his chest. "What do you want?"
"Nice, Johnson!" I said as we headed for the machine.
Josh let out a small laugh as he bent down to get some candy as well. Kate took one from his arms. "Where'd you learn this?"
"Oh, a lot of people trade hacks on line." Josh explained.
Simon faked coughed. "Nerd."
I noticed Josh's face fell, and couldn't help but feel bad for him. In retaliation, I elbowed Simon in the ribs - it's a common occurrence.
Josh then glanced at Kate and Simon. "So, uh... when did you two get into the fruit business?"
Kate tilted her head. "What?"
"Um, drugs.."
"Oh, that's just temporary. Saving up to get out of here." Kate explained.
"Take me with you. Josh muttered, though it was loud enough for me to hear. I sent him a teasing smirk, causing him to be flustered - I could always tell there was a little spark between him and Kate. Now I know.
It was a nice moment, but it was soon interrupted by the sound of screaming echoing across the hall. We turned our heads and moved out of the way to see Sam and Deena running away from something - together.
Never thought I'd see the day.
Simon's eyes followed them. "Did they get back together?"
Just then, the same guy we saw in the skull mask costume came running in the same direction as Sam and Deena. Kate and I screamed and we made a run for it, Simon reaching for both of our hands trying not to leave anyone behind.
Eventually, we made it to the exit. Simon was in full panic mode and I started to do the same. I wonder if this is how my mom and aunt C. Berman ( she goes by that now apparently ) felt during Camp Nightwing. Welp, if so - guess it's a family tradition.
"Where are the keys?" Simon breathed out.
"Come on," Kate headed out the door. "The ambulance."
Once Deena and Sam made it out of the hospital alive, we all made a run for it in the ambulance.

To say I was freaked out was an understatement. One minute I was helping Kate babysit and the next im running for my life from a psycho murderer who came back from the dead or something.
After leaving the hospital, we all made our way to the station to see if my dad or the cops could get involved and help us out. I had my doubts about it, but hey - if a guy in a skull mask can just pop out nowhere and start chasing us, then anything's possible.
Officer Kazansky was basically ignoring half of the things we were trying to tell him. Eventually, my dad came in and it was just as awkward as you'd expect it.
I turned around and said, "You told me to come to you."
After Kazansky sat up, he took his seat and we started explaining what we saw. Of course, he wasn't believing a single world. I just thought of all people, he would - my mom did too back in 78, but he still doesn't.
"Yeah. Yeah, the mall killer. Ryan Torres." Deena nodded.
My dad slid a picture of a deceased Ryan Torres towards us. "That's Ryan Torres."
"Yes! Yes, that's him - I know, but you guys must have made a mistake or something," Deena ranted.
"Ok." He got at a pen and started scribbling on the paper. "Would you say he was more Dawn Of The Dead or Night Of The Living Dead?"
"Wait - you don't believe us?" Sam asked in disbelief.
"Dad, cmon!" I exclaimed.
"This was a waste of time." Deena stated.
"Look, N/N. We've had prank calls, we've had reports of skeleton mask copycats all weekend." He said.
"Mom said you'd say that." I muttered, but I'm pretty sure he heard it.
Just then, Kazansky came in. "Got a call from the hospital. Lady sounded worked up."
Deena and I glanced at him. He sighed and stood up from chair. "Um... wait, I'll... I got it. Take care of them."
