Lisa's being held hostage.

And by held hostage, she just means Rosie threatened to put red hair dye in Lisa's shampoo if she didn't stop acting like a pathetic little idiot and avoiding the cafe. Rosie really likes their coffee-she says, and Lisa quotes, "It's not that other watered-down shit like all the other cafes. If it doesn't make you palpitate to hell and back, is it really good fucking coffee?"

But of course, they just had to visit while Jennie and Taeh were working at the counter.

"You're staring."

"I'm not staring."

"You're pathetic," Rosie repeats, rolling her eyes as she takes a big gulp from her venti coffee. Jisoo eyes her apprehensively, like she's trying to comprehend how it's possible to consume that many espresso shots without having a heart attack.

Lisa doesn't reply, eyes glued on Jennie still preparing coffee. Her fist clenches when Taeh reaches past her for something and mutters something under his breath. Whatever it was, it makes Jennie let out a startled laugh before shoving him away.

Oh.

Oh.

Okay, so he made her laugh. That's fine. That's absolutely fucking peachy. Why would Lisa care if Jennie laughs at Taeh's jokes?

She didn't. She didn't care.

Jennie has the right to laugh at another guy's jokes-even though it took Lisa at least three months before she got her to even crack a smile to her when they first made up. Jennie deliberately held her laughter back out of petty spite, but she's not doing it now, and Lisa can't help but feel it bruise her ego a little.

"What did the scone ever do to you?" Jisoo sighs, and Lisa blinks, looking down at the crumbs on her plate, the remnants of her crushed pastry.

Lisa's face grows hot, and she doesn't miss the knowing stares Jisoo and Rosie exchange as she brushes off the mess from her hands and lap.

"You know, Jennie acted the exact same way when she was jealous of Diana," Jisoo drawls, giving her a pointed look.

"I'm not jealous. Why would I be jealous? I'm her girlfriend, Taeh is just a co-worker, she said so herself," Lisa says, but even she can tell she sounds unnecessarily defensive.

Dumbass, she can hear Jennie's voice say.

"Exactly, you shouldn't be jealous. But you are," Rosie says flatly, and Lisa directs a weak glare at her.

"You know, you could talk to her about it," Jisoo suggests.

"Please. She's never going to let me live it down."

"Like you let her live down her own jealousy thing?" Rosie asks incredulously.

" Exactly. "

"She won't, she'll probably laugh at you, to be honest. But it's still worth letting her know to clear the air. She could reassure you. Or you know, just kiss you senseless," Jisoo alludes, and Lisa tries to kick her under the table.

When they realize Lisa's not going to budge, Rosie rolls her eyes and Jisoo sighs again, turning her attention back to her own croissant and coffee, leaving Lisa to stew.

She's just overreacting-the sudden friendship caught her off-guard, but Taeh and Jennie are doing absolutely nothing wrong. They were just doing what most friends do, and Lisa hates to admit it, but Taeh is a nice guy, if a little too enthusiastic for her liking.
