The sun had barely started creeping into the windows, but Edd was already hopping out of bed, full of energy and ready to seize the day. As he stretched his limbs and let out an enthusiastic yawn, he could hear the familiar sounds of his roommates stirring in the other rooms.
He quickly threw on his favorite hoodie and a pair of beige jeans, brushing his his messy brown hair with his fingers.

Edd threw a bunch of stuff around as he was beginning his morning.

The shrill sound of Edd's things clashing to the floor pierced through the haze of Tom's slumber, jolting him awake with a groan. He pulled the covers over his head, desperately trying to block out the relentless morning noise.
Reluctantly, Tom dragged himself out of bed, his movements sluggish and heavy. He shuffled to the bathroom, splashing cold water on his face in a futile attempt to feel more alert. As he stared at his reflection in the mirror, Tom couldn't help but envy Edd's boundless energy.
He threw on a blue hoodie and dark gray sweatpants, he put gel in his light brown-ish dirty blonde hair to keep it spiky; a strange style the others had gotten used to.

Tom walked out of his room to see one of his roomates, Matt, who was sitting on the couch, his orange hair was spiky, but not as strange as Tom's. He wore a strange outfit; a purple sweater with a greenish-turquoise suit jacket on top and blue sweatpants. He looked innocently and energetically at the blabbering news on the television. Beside him sat Tord, Tom's second roommate, Although Tord and Tom have been roommates for 18 years, just the same as the others since they were teenagers, Tord and Tom haven't been getting along since he came back from his time of exploration. Tord had left the group a few years ago and came back just a year ago. Since then, tord had gotten into some strange mischief and almost murdering them all.. but that's a story for another time. The others had forgave him, but not Tom. The fight they all got into had given Tord burn scars from head to toe on his right side along with many other scars. Although his injuries were healing well, he was being taken care of by Matt, who had been given a faded yellow bruise on his eye from being punched by Tord in a fit of rage.
Tord heard the creak of Tom's footsteps on the crimson carpet covering the wood floor, causing him to turn his head slightly. He waved at Tom but was greeted with a glare, Tord turned back to the television. Tom looked around the room; the rose-tinted couch Matt and Tord were sitting on, the sunflower-yellow painted walls, the television in front of the couch, a small red armchair, a window with a red curtain on it, and some walking space behind the couches where Tom was walking. Tom spotted the doorway and trudged sleepily to the dining room. His shoes made a clacking sound on the white tile floor. He made his way to the corner of the room which had a counter and a few stools, on the opposite side of the counter was a stove, fridge, sink, and counter, which is where Edd was cooking breakfast.

As the dim lamp in the kitchen lit the room, Edd stood at the stove, carefully tending to the scrambled eggs. The aroma of the food filled the air. Tom, still rubbing the tiredness from his eyes. "I should make a drink," Tom mumbled. Edd glanced over his shoulder and smiled. "I'm just about done with breakfast. Did you sleep well?" Tom shrugged, already reaching for a coffee mug, then reached for the alcohol he had been storing in his pocket in a metal canteen. As he pulled it out of his pocket, Edd turned around and put down the plate of eggs he had finished and then his eyes locked into the alcohol, he grabbed the canteen and put it in his pocket, Tom looked at him with an annoyed face. Edd rolled his eyes "you can be an alcoholic later, it's time for breakfast." He teased. Tom looked down at the eggs and grabbed his fork, he finished the entire plate in only two minutes, which was fast for how tired he was. Tom placed his fork onto his plate and got up off of the wooden stool before making his way to the sink, where he put his silverware in with a clatter, the wet sink splattered dirty water onto his arm and he cringed, wiping it on his hoodie.
The two walked into the living room, Tom threw himself onto the sofa and Edd sat on the couch with the other guys, the British trio all together, Tord being the lone man there with a Norwegian accent. Edd spun his head to Tom, who was on his phone, his eyes tired and posture slumped over. There was a hint of playfulness in Edd's tone as he spoke "Hey, Tom, why don't you sit over here with us?" Tom sighed and frowned. "I'm not sitting near Tord." Tord rolled his eyes.

Suddenly, a loud rumble echoed through the room, and the air conditioning unit sputtered and died, leaving them in the oppressive heat. Edd's heart sank as he realized their only respite from the sweltering temperature had vanished.
Tom let out an exasperated groan, while Tord's eyes gleamed with a hint of mischief.
"Ugh, it's so hot in here!" Tom groaned, wiping the sweat from his brow. Edd smirked "you're so hot." Tom turned to him swiftly "wait- what-?" "I mean, you.. suck..? Wait, what's did you say?" Tom slumped down "I don't remember, it's too hot!" "You're too hot" Edd added, not thinking straight due to the heat.
Tom groaned, "whose fault is this?"
All eyes turned to Tord, who happily smiled while blowing smoke after taking his cigar out of his mouth. "I was just trying to make it more efficient, but I guess I broke it, whoops!" He sarcastically admitted.
Tom clenched his teeth. "Of course you did. Now we're all stuck in this sauna".
Matt fanned himself dramatically. "I'm melting! We have to get out of here before I turn into a puddle of ginger!"
Edd pondered for a moment. "Let's all pile into the car and head to the beach, it can't be worse than this shit."
The others eagerly agreed, quickly gathering their beach gear and rushing out. After a few minutes, they were on the road, windows rolled down and wind blowing into their faces.

As soon as they parked at the beach, they ran onto the sand. As Edd was throwing their bags onto the beach blanket he had just put down, the others took it all in; the salty air in their nostrils, the sound of seagulls squeaking, the warm sand on their feet.. they then realized their feet were burning from the sun warming up the sand. They all sprinted, trying to avoid their feet burning any longer, and in their panic, almost fell into the stone wall that separated the beach from the park that was on the other side of it on a grassy hill.
Thay all splashed into the water, except for Tord, who was walking into the sea carefully because of his burn scars.
Tom and Edd swam until they couldn't feel the sand underneath their feet. Matt threw a sinking toy that's usually used by children. Edd caught it, and pushed away from Tom, who lunged at him, water splashing both of them in the face. As tom lunged at him, the toy sank to the bottom of the sea, which wasn't very far where they were. Edd dipped his head in the water and saw the piece of fabric with a heavy plastic ball attached to it twirling to the floor.
After Edd popped his head up for air, two friends looked at each other, determination in their smiles.
They both held their breaths before diving beneath the waves.
They both treaded downwards as they tried to fetch the toy first. The water was cool and clear around them, the sunlight filtering through in shimmering rays, some fish reflecting it back. Edd's heart pounded in his chest as his legs frantically kicked as if they were a propeller, determined to reach the goal. Tom was close behind, his hand outstretched towards the sinking object.
As he felt his lungs starting to burn, Edd's fingers closed around the fabric of the toy, and with a powerful grip, he propelled himself back towards the surface. Tom followed suit, his body demanding for oxygen. Breaking through the surface, Edd gasped for air, clutching the toy triumphantly in his hand. Tom surfaced beside him, coughing and sputtering.

"I was so close. well done, man." Tom sighed, slapping his friend on the back.
Edd grinned back, feeling the sun in his face yet again. As they treaded back to shore.
As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the sand, the group reluctantly agreed it was time to head back home.
