“INSIDE THE CONTAINER”
Ruby was in a deep sleep while in her lap baby and on other side of her lap Charlie was asleep. As they were exhausted with hunger.
As she slept like a baby, a loud creaking noise of a rusty gate swinging was heard.
The sound of the container being opened and foot steps of someone entering and closing the container could be heard.
Ruby hug her brothers tightly as “her heart started beating rapidly Her heart was beating like a wild animal trying to escape her chest.
As the foot steps were getting closer and closer. Her heart was pounding like the fists of a thousand zombies trying to get to her precious brains.”
Soon the voice grow louder and closer
“THUD,THUD....THUD...THUD” someone was coming towards them while the sound of moving boxes could be heard.
Ruby was not prepared for such thing. She closed her eyes as a pigeon closes the eyes when they see a cat, That way, it assumes that since the pigeon can’t see the cat, the cat does not exist.
Suddenly, there was pin drop silence no noise, no more of gate creaking noise as Ruby opened her eyes she saw jasper as he brought them food and water.
As Charlie was asleep he gently rubbed his hair. And Charlie woke up, he hugged jasper while kissing him all over his face. And Rudy smiling at them. While holding the baby.
They looking like a perfect family, Feeling safe and secure with each other. Trusting each other. Keeping promises.
Jasper gave a bottle of milk to Ruby. As she was feeding the baby Ruby and jasper looked at each other lost in the eyes of each other.
Her eyes were blue, blue as ocean waves and his eyes were brown , brown as melting chocolate. Both of them skipped a beat for each other. While Charlie was eating.
Charlie shakes jasper for his attention . And gives jasper a butterfly made out of paper and says to keep this with him.
Jasper smile at him and puts the paper butterfly in his pocket while Charlie goes back to eating.
Soon the baby is full and Ruby put him aside as the baby goes back to sleep Rudy eats leftover food like a hungry wolf as she finishes it off by eating the chocolate dessert
Jasper comes closer to Ruby he placed his hand on Ruby’s lips wiping with his finger and licking it.
Her hearts was pounding like the persistent waves against the crumbing cliffs.
There is a saying eyes are a door way for soul As they were looking into each other eyes they were looking at each other souls. There eyes meat each other souls like the ocean waves meets the beach sand.
It was night everyone except the cabin were asleep.
Jasper: you look tired. Your eyes they look so dull.
Ruby: I am tired. (Said ruby in a dull tone)
There was silence....
Ruby: Tired
“I’m tired of always running away, When all I ever wanted was a place to stay.
I’m tired of being surrounded by others in life, When all they seem to cause is conflict, sadness, and strive.
I’m tired of having nobody there, When all I ever needed was someone to care.
I’m tired of this endless struggle for more, When I don’t even know what it is I’m fighting for.
I’m tired of being afraid to fall, When I never even started to climb at all.
I’m tired of always being awake, When dreams never hurt you, even though they’re fake.”
Soon, Ruby told Jasper about the incident in which her parents were dead.
Charlie was now feeling sleepy. He kissed Jasper goodbye and felt asleep, Jasper kissed Ruby’s forehead as a gesture of pure love.
And soon left the container.
