"Let's take it back."

When Geto Suguru uttered those four simple words, he meant every single letter that left his lips.

There you stood, eyes wandering across the blue horizon and the lush green trees enveloping you. Despite the sun hanging high, a chilly gust of wind brushed past. The dark-haired boy towered beside you as he, too, indulged at the scenery before him.

You have always been fond of shrines. However, it wasn't faith or the Gods that earned your liking. Rather, it was the beautiful stories and infrastructures concurrent to the shrines that captivated you. In each brick, leaf, and soil lies a story. You believed that to be a fact and something was beautiful about that.

Did their wishes come true? What did they wish for? Such questions would race in your mind which somehow always stirred your excitement. However, that simple thing you enjoyed too, was tainted by your clan's cruelty.

You never really had any good memories of shrines, and not one of your prayers ever came true; nothing more to say.

"Flower for your thoughts?" Geto's voice snapped you from your reverie.

Before you knew it, small purple lilacs had already been carefully tucked behind your right ear.

"Where did you even get this from, Guru?" your hands aimlessly hovered over the flowers. They were several pieces neatly tied together to form a simple hair ornament.

"Nowhere." he titled his head, shifting his eyes between you and the flowers now tucked behind your ear. "It just happened to appear right in my hands."

"Thank you. I'm sure it's pretty."

A smile only played on his lips as his eyes formed a thin line, planting gentle pats on the top of your head. You liked it when he smiled and you liked it when his hand touched your hair.

It was...soothing.

"So, what are you thinking about?" retrieving his hand, he began leading your way at the shrine.

Both of you knew that you had a hefty place to explore ahead, and he was not letting any second go to waste to do so. You loved the place, and he loved seeing you with something you love.
