The two, Zurley and Joldewin were now headed back down the path and to the Restaurant where the tournament was held. This time, however, it seemed the entire town had gathered to watch. There were screens set up all around the town showcasing the current contenders of the match.
"Hey look, there's me! I'm on the screen!" Zurley chuckled loudly as the people next to him looked at him with pity.
"Hey, what's wrong?"
"Are you really that guy on the screen? Zurley V. Larec?" said one man who was standing next to him.
"Yup, that's me!"
"I almost feel bad for the kid," he heard others say.
"He's so skinny. No way he's coming out of there alive," others said.
"Come on, Zurley, let's move away from the crowd. We need to get you inside the building and ready to fight," Joldewin grabbed Zurley's arm as he walked inside the building with him.
"Right!" He agreed.
"Hey! So you showed up after all," said a familiar voice as they walked toward the backstage.
"Saxan!" Zurley exclaimed.
"Hey, just letting you know. You're not just fighting me. So good luck winning the bet," he laughed.
"How many people am I fighting?"
"Two, if you even make it to me. Looking at the screen though, it seems you won't see me until the finals. So good luck," Saxan said as Zurley agreed and shook his hand. As Zurley and Joldewin were preparing for the match, they were examining the other fighters, particularly the ones that Zurley would be up against.
"So... I'll be up against Ben Dover the Bender... then most likely Prong the Strong. It's amazing how he recovered from yesterday so quickly," Zurley said, examining Prong the Strong lifting weights with his head.
"Alright, your fight is just about to begin, Zurley... are you sure you want to do this?"
"I've never been more sure of anything in my life," he paused for a moment. "Here, take my special robe. I'll be needing it back after the fight though, so don't lose it," Zurley said as he took off the black robe with red and yellow outlines.
"Your special coat?"
"I've had this coat ever since I can remember. Never parted ways with it ever."
"Ah. I see. Alright, time for you to go then! Good luck, Zurley!" Joldewin said as Zurley walked up on the stage. The lights were dimmed and the windows shut again, the spotlight focusing on Zurley and Ben Dover, as they waited for the round to begin. The cheering from the crowds was louder than ever before. Zurley looked around to see where Joldewin was, to find him sitting with Marina. The screens were now showing Zurley in his shining purple shirt, and Ben Dover in his blue overalls as he began flexing his bending skills by bending and breaking chairs, tables, and anything else the crowd gave him.
"Ladies and Gentlemen! This is the moment you all have been waiting for! Our island's proud Boxing Tournament is now going to commence. For our very first fight, we will be having... BEN DOVER THE BENDER!" The announcer exclaimed as the crowd went wild for him.
"And his opponent, a small boy who recently got to our island, it's... ZURLEY V. LAREC!" they announced Zurley, however, no one cheered for him.
"You can do it, Zurley! I believe in you!" Joldewin exclaimed, leaving everyone else quiet.
