ONE || IN NO YORK YOU COULD BE A NEW MAN

"I don't understand why I can't go with you!" I exclaim to my mother. They were making me live with my mom's college friend. For a year. In New York. I live near the Golden Gate Bridge, in San Francisco.

"Honey, this is a great opportunity for us. A year traveling around the world, it's going to be amazing." My mother explains, I groan. I want to travel the world.

"I could study abroad. I could skip a year of school." I retort giving a suggestion. I definitely didn't want to move to New York.

"No, it's all set. You should be happy, my friend Camryn and her family is taking you in." My mom fights with me.

"So I'm basically living in a foster home. I've never met this Camryn. Look Ma, it's my senior year, I could be homeschooled for my last year. I'm seventeen, almost eighteen." I suggest, I don't want to go to New York. Not even one bit.

"You are going to New York and you are spending your senior year there!" My mother shouts . It's no use. Once Topanga Matthews shouts there's no way to fight back. I sigh feeling defeated. "Riley don't worry. It's going to be fine. Plus, there's a boy your age in their household, he'll make sure you feel comfortable at your new school." My mom finished.

I look out the plane as it went down to the runway. Welcome to New York, it's been waiting for you. I sang in my head. It's been waiting to ruin your life.

I get off the plane and grab my luggage which consisted of two suitcases, everything else was shipped here before I came.

"Riley!" A voice calls. I turn around to see a short, blonde girl and tall man next to her. "Riley!" She continues. I walked over to her.

"Hi." Was all I managed to say.

"Hi, I'm Camryn and this is my husband Carl. Everything is set up at the house." She greets me, I nod signaling I was listening.

They haul a taxi and the driver puts my luggage in the trunk as I sat in the back seat with Camryn.

"You'll love New York, it's a fantastic city. We live in a nice neighborhood and you'll love the boys." Camryn said on the way to their house. Boys? There is more than one? I brush the thought off my mind and admire the city.

The cab stops at this gated community in front of this large house. I open the door and get out of the car. I admire the front of the house, everything is so lush.

"Here we are!" Carl exclaimed. He walks into the house and I trail behind him. I am greeted with his large foyer and a living room coming off of it. Everything is so slick and clean like I'll ruin it if I touch it. Camryn arrives in the foyer soon.

"Boys! Come greet our guest! Come down now!" She screams looking up from the stairs. Five boys came marching into the foyer. Five. "You knew she would be coming." She sats scolding them a tiny bit.

"What are we supposed to do? Make a cheese platter?" One mutters maybe a year or two older than me.

"At least make yourselves look presentable!" Camryn tried to say quietly under gritted teeth, but failed miserably.

"Introduce yourselves." Carl demands.

One stepped up, the youngest I supposed. "I'm Auggie and I'm this many." He says holding out five fingers. I rub his curly hair which reminded me of my father's. His voice was high and absolutely adorable.

Soon Auggie steps back and the other comes up. "I'm Will." Was all he said. He was quiet dreamy with light blonde hair and piercing blue eyes, but younger than me. Maybe fourteen or so.
