FIFTEEN || REWIND

Collin and I head to Central Park, so Auggie can play in the park. Today has been pretty good so far, I learned a lot about Collin. He's more of a cinnamon roll than I thought.
Auggie runs up to the slide once we arrive at the playground. "No pushing other kids, kiddo!" I hear Collin say to his little brother.
We take a seat on a bench near the playground, so we never lose Auggie. "How do you like New York so far?" Collin asks me.
"It's good so far." I answer.
"Can I tell you something?" He questions me. He was serious now, Collin Friar had a secret.
"You could tell me anything." I reassure him. I give him a smile that says 'go on'
Collin pauses for a moment, "There was this girl, her name was Alice." He says. I nod signaling I'm listening. "I asked her out during sophomore year. She said yes. We dated for a whole year, I was positive I loved her. Then one day, I saw her with someone else. She was kissing him. Being the good person, I confronted her. I wasn't just going to let it slide, but I did." He continues giving a little pause. Collin loved someone. "Alice and I continued to date after the cheating. I just loved her so much; I felt like if I let go, I would turn into dust because I would be nothing without her. During the last few months of dating, my parents took me to a doctor to get evaluated. I thought they were crazy, I was normal. I wasn't, I was diagnosed with depression. I took my happy pills, I was okay. Alice was there, she made me happy. At this point if she left, I was ready to kill myself." He says taking a deep sigh. I look at him, he was depressed.
"What happened? Why are you telling me this now?"
Collin takes a deep breath, "She cheated on me again. She didn't talk to me and she left. She's gone and I feel so stupid. It was a month before you came here." Collin finishes ignoring my second question. "Life isn't perfect for all of the Friars, life isn't perfect for any of them."
"Why are you telling me this?" I repeat my question.
"I just needed to let it all out. I needed to tell someone, I put on a mask and I said I was fine when I wasn't." He explains. "Society paints it as only girls feel depressed. I feel like someone needs to know guys hurt too, it's just sometimes they're too wussy to admit it." He ends giving a little laugh.

The memory flashes in my mind and I instantly snatch my hand away from Luke's. "I'm sorry, I just have to-- I have to go." I say before running out of his room to mine.
I crash onto my bed, which room service cleaned up, and think. Will was out of the room which I'm very thankful for.

I put my hand on his shoulder in reassuring manner, "Ah, how relatable that is." I mutter.
Collin looks up from looking at his feet and turns his head at me, "huh?"
"Well, this is the story about a kid named Miles and a girl named Riley. They got paired up for a project because everyone else had partners already. You see, Riley was staring at the window thinking of theories about Teen Wolf and Miles, being the smart person he is, was zooming through the Scarlett Letter." I said. Collin raised his eyebrows at me, "Riley and Miles became friends. And then started to date, he made bowling her thing." I continued giving a little laugh on how bad O was at bowling. "Miles loved Riley and Riley loved--loves--Miles. Disaster struck and everything went spiraling. Miles died on May 27, 2015 because he ran a red light during prom night. Riley was devastated, it was her fault, or so she thought. Riley was the one who told him to run it because she didn't want to be late." I said. Collin's face dropped and looked down.
