Me: I just died
I whispered into the empty void, my voice echoing back to me.
Me:I was in some sort of void, no light, nothing. What did I do to deserve this? I wasn't a bad person. All my life, I've been scorned and hated for no reason. Why me?
Silence greeted my words, the void swallowing them up without a trace. I felt a heavy weight in my chest, a mix of confusion, anger, and despair. All I wanted was some semblance of understanding, some closure to the torment I endured in life.
Memories flashed before my eyes of taunts, jeers, and fists raining down upon me. The pain of rejection and isolation seared through me like a knife, leaving scars that would never fully heal.
Me:Why did they hate me?
I muttered to myself, the question lingering in the empty expanse around me.
Me:What did I do to deserve such cruelty?
But there were no answers, only the haunting echo of my own voice bouncing off the walls of the void. I was alone, trapped in a realm of darkness with nothing but my own thoughts for company.
As I drifted through the abyss, a sense of resignation washed over me. Maybe this was my fate—to be condemned to an eternity of solitude, a punishment for crimes I never committed.
200 years later
???:You're still struggling
Me:Who said that?
I exclaimed, my senses on high alert as I scanned the darkness, searching for the source of the mysterious voice.
Ophis:I am Ophis, the Ouroboros Dragon, God of Infinity
the voice replied, echoing all around me. Though I couldn't see her, the name sent shivers down my spine, and her tone sounded cold and mechanical.
Me:Wait, what?
I stammered, trying to wrap my mind around the revelation.
Me:A dragon god? What do you want with me?
There was a moment of silence before Ophis spoke again, her voice carrying a hint of curiosity.
Ophis:you intrigue me, Kousei. Your resilience in the face of adversity, your refusal to be defined by the cruelty of others it is... unusual.
I felt a surge of unease at her words, unsure of what she meant by "unusual."
Me:What do you mean?
I asked cautiously, my guard still up.
Ophis:Most mortals would crumble under the weight of such suffering
Ophis explained.
Ophis:But you... you endure. You resist. It is a trait I find... fascinating.
I couldn't help but feel a sense of discomfort at being analyzed by a god.
Me:What do you want from me?
I repeated, my voice tinged with apprehension.
Ophis paused, as if considering her words carefully before responding.
Ophis:I offer you a choice, Kousei
she said.
Ophis:You can continue to wander this void, alone and forgotten. Or... you can embrace your destiny and become something more.
I furrowed my brow, unsure of what she meant by "something more.
Me:What kind of destiny?
I pressed, a sense of wariness creeping over me.
