Sebastien's alarm did not wake him up this morning. Instead, the smell of breakfast foods invaded his senses and forced his eyes to open. Reality dawned on him that there was someone else in his home. A soft knock sounded on his bedroom door.
"Come in?" Sebastien tried to say but it came out like a question. The LV peeked his head in and smiled.
"I made breakfast for you; would you like it now?" the LV asked. Sebastien had no idea how or why he was doing what he was doing. He figured it was more than likely in the LV's programming but androids could ignore their programming, right? Maybe that's what separated deviant androids from the others.
"Sure," Sebastien responded groggily. He yawned and stretched as the LV brought over the food on a raised tray. The LV spread a white linen cloth across Sebastien's lap before sitting the tray snuggly on his lap. Sebastien saw eggs over easy, French toast sprinkled with powdered sugar, bacon, home fries with red and green peppers, along with orange juice and green grapes. It also dawned on Sebastien that he had none of these ingredients nor items in his kitchen.
"Where did you get all of this?" Sebastien asked confused.
"I ordered some things earlier this morning," the LV smiled. "They were delivered expeditiously."
"You really didn't have to do that," Sebastien shook his head.
"It's quite alright, Sebastien," the LV responded. "I know that you didn't sign up for this but I at least want to make the best of it with you." Sebastien sighed and nodded his head slowly.
"Thank you," Sebastien said softly.
"You're welcome," the LV said and smiled again. "Remember, you're doing the dishes." Sebastien guffawed at that comment when the LV winked at him. Did androids normally wink?
"I did say that didn't I?" Sebastien asked himself. "I really should've kept my mouth closed." Although Sebastien was still worried about the whole ordeal, the LV didn't seem to mind. The reason for that could have also had something to do with his programming, but Sebastien wasn't so sure. He began biting into the meal as the LV gave him privacy to eat. The food was absolutely delicious that he began to get teary-eyed. No one had ever made this kind of breakfast for him before.
As Sebastien finished his meal and got ready for the day, he noticed the LV sitting quietly on the couch watching the TV. Sebastien began cleaning the kitchen and found himself stopping to watch the LV as he chuckled. Their eyes would meet from time to time making the LV smile warmly and Sebastien quickly blush while making himself busy. It was weird. The LV unit was ungodly handsome. Sebastien couldn't pay a man who looked anywhere like him to sit on his couch and watch TV, let alone live with him for a year. Granted, it wasn't the LV's choice.
"How about we go out somewhere?" Sebastien suggested when he finished in the kitchen. "I'm off today and it would be nice to get out of the house."
"What do you normally do on your off days?" the LV asked.
"Sit here and play video games," Sebastien laughed and the android simply smiled fondly at him. It was as if he somehow found Sebastien endearing, which couldn't be right, could it? "I figured you may want to see the sights. I'm not sure if you were able to do that before, but I think it could be fun."
"If that is what you want," the LV stated and stood up.
"Sure, it's what I want, but you can decline if you don't want to go," Sebastien shook his head. "Don't let me pressure you, please."
"I want to go, Sebastien," the LV chuckled. "Stop overthinking things."
"It's a toxic trait, I'm sorry," Sebastien shook his head as he grabbed a light jacket. It was early Spring so the weather was still a little chilly in Detroit as the flowers in the parks began to bloom. Sebastien immediately noticed the looks he and the LV received as they walked the sidewalks of downtown Detroit. He completely disregarded the fact that he was walking with a prototype android that no one had ever seen. He also began to hear the whispers.
