"Hurry up bro! Y/N is going to win!"

Two ikran, gorgeously colored, were racing through the Pandoran sky. The riders, young Na'vi, were chasing something - someone. They sped over the lush forest, the wings of their mounts skimming the bright leaves on the tops of the monstrous trees. The rest of the group was ahead, following an RDA train.

"She always wins bro; you'll never beat her! Just let it go!"

The other rider replied, eyes glinting teasingly. Neteyam was the eldest of the Sully children—well, the oldest by three minutes and forty-seven seconds.

"Have a little faith in me bro!"

The other shot back, scowling playfully - Lo'ak, the fourth oldest. The two brothers were trying to catch up to a silvery blue ikran. That was Kllrikx, a monster of a banshee whose rider was hooting with joy each time he dove under some stray branches.

Neteyam's wild-child twin, Y/N. She was as competitive as they came. Being second oldest by mere minutes made her determined to come first in everything else. She was a formidable rider and had a shot even her mother was wary of.

She was well ahead, keeping low on her precious mount. The siblings were en route to a track where the train carrying weapons and crucial supplies would be ambushed. Their job was to keep an eye out for any incoming RDA aircraft. Lo'ak was upset, for he had hoped to join the ground troops; he'd do anything to get his hands on a gun. Neteyam and Y/N didn't mind; they were happy to follow orders and revelled in the chance to race one another.

"I'll have faith in you the day I see you beat her!"

The brothers were approaching the supply track, and Kllrikx finally came into view. Y/N was circling the ambush site, watching for the incoming cargo. The ground forces were moving in, lining the tracks with explosives. Around the corner, the siblings could see their father following the train with the rest of the flyers.

"He always gets to have all the fun!"

Lo'ak's complaints were continuous, and he made no signs of stopping any time soon.

"Would you be quiet for just one second?"

Y/N called out, her voice stern but her grin betraying all seriousness.

"Y/N is right- even the stars will hear you up in the sky with how loud you are being!"

Neteyam called out too, now circling with his twin.

"Oh, come on- you two must be jealous too- you must want to be down there too!"

Lo'ak shot back, sounding desperate. His eyes were pleading, and it was obvious he sought to prove himself, as always. That was his problem, always trying to go over the top, showing off at any chance, and always ending up in trouble.

Before any of them could reply, a deafening blast came from the track. None of the kids had seen the train arrive, but when they stared down with wide eyes, the track was in ruins. The train had skidded off the rails, lying on its side in a trench of churned-up dirt, and the whole raiding party started looting it for weapons. In all the chaos, the twins hadn't noticed Lo'ak descend, only seeing the tail of his ikran vanish in the impact's remaining dust clouds.

"Tsahey- dammit Lo'ak!"

Y/N scowled, diving down despite Neteyam's fearful calls. Kllrikx landed with a thud, snarling lightly as the dust and debris irritated his eyes. After giving him a quick pat and rubbing her eyes, which were irritated as well, Y/N slid off in search of her little brother. Neteyam had landed a moment later and sprinted after her retreating figure. He caught up with her, pulling her tail.
