Hugo was clearly satisfied to see Brad, which wasn't the case with Angelina. Neither of them even pretended to be happy about seeing each other. Hugo ignored Angelina's questions about Bailey and Brad was in too deep into conversation with Hugo that the only person she spoke to was a maid who eventually led her to Bailey's bedroom.
As predicted, Bailey moved to another room, but still close to her former master bedroom she shared with her husband. The woman, who appeared to also be Bailey's personal maid, told Angelina not to knock on the door but just enter the room. She mentioned something else but her English was too bad for Angelina to understand.
"Adalicia, fermez la porte.", Bailey said, thinking her maid entered when the door opened and the wind made the curtains go in waves. She was on the terrace overlooking the city.
"It's Valerie.", Angelina lied to her once again, as she's been doing for years back.
"Hey.", Bailey said back without any emotion and not turning around to look at her.
"It's nice in here."
Angelina never entered any of those bedroom even though she was shown some of the rooms in that house. Several of those, lined in a long hallway were probably the same since all of them were guest bedrooms, but the one Bailey stayed at was too big for a guest room. It was all in variants of blue including the window frames from the inside and sheer pale blue curtains.
What surprised Angelina is the size of Bailey's baby bump.
"How much to go?", she asked her.
The last time she saw her, at the mall, was a week ago. Now if she recalls that day, Bailey was wearing bigger clothes and she never said how pregnant she was.
"Two months."
"Are you happy about it?"
"I am not."
"Why not?"
"Because Hugo isn't."
"Do you measure your happiness according to his feelings? I hope not, because you would be miserable all the time. Unless when you see Brad, he is really happy now.", Angelina tried to cheer her and none of them noticed she didn't call Brad John.
"Sure that. When we got back from shopping I saw them sail away together. That sure happens rarely. He either really wants to be his friend or he knows he did something bad.", Bailey said and quickly figured out she said something she shouldn't have. "I am sure he just wants friends, he hasn't got many of them."
Angelina got worried when Bailey said that, but tried not to look like it.
They talked for a while. Angelina was just gaining her trust so they talked about everything from her worries about her baby's health to Hugo's weapons so she found out he always has two on him wherever he goes.
Later, she went down to find Brad and Hugo drinking vodka and smoking cigars.
"Honey, you started smoking?", Angelina nervously asked Brad.
"Your wife doesn't know that?"
"Yes, recently.", Brad answered pretending not to hear Hugo. "Sit down with us."
"No. Actually, we could go. Bailey will meet me tomorrow at our house."
"She can't go out.", Hugo said peacefully and put his cigare back in his mouth.
"Why?", Angelina asked.
"She won't go out until she gives birth."
"You can't keep her in. She's neither a slave nor incapable. I'll send her a driver."
Brad decided not to interrupt their so-called fight.
"No, she isn't my slave, she's my wife. And I decide for her."
"No you don't."
But when Hugo got up and one of his bodyguards came in, affraid that he'll do something to Angelina, Brad got up as well and took Angelina's purse which stood on a chair next to him. "You're right. We might as well go."
Nobody said anything but Bailey's maid who escorted them out.
