THE KISS
JUNIPER WALKS DOWN the empty corridors, with guy by her side, just enjoying the comfort of his presence.
after a good five more hours in bed, she finally got the courage to get up, guy supporting her the entire time.
"i have a surprise for you," guy smiles down at her, as her head snaps up. "and what's that?"
he takes her hand, into his, as they head to his dorm room. he opens the door, and grabs two pairs of roller skates; showing them off like they are a trophy.
"i'd told you, i'd teach you."
they reach the outside of the campus, it completely silent, due to the time of day. the sun is slowly setting in the back, as guy takes her to a bench.
she sits down, her heart beating outside of her chest, as he carefully takes off her tennis shoes, slipping on the roller skate.
she feels like she's living her disney princess dream, expect instead of a glass slipper, they are roller skates.
he ties the laces, and puts his on in a matter of seconds. he helps her onto her feet, as she wobbles a little, due to the new feeling on underneath her.
guy interlinks their hands, as they begin to move at a slow but steady pace, him making sure she doesn't fall.
"i cant do this!" she giggles, as she tightens her grip on his hand, a little scared.
"yes, you can," he says softly, as she grabs his forearm. "i can't even stand up straight, guy!"
"yeah, it's kind of funny."
she goes to slap his chest, but falls in the process.
guy tries to catch her, but she takes him right down with her.
she squeals as they fall into the grass, tumbling down all the way down the hill, the two cackling over their mistaken fall.
guy lands right on top of her, his hands on either side of her face, as he sits up, not wanting to crush her.
juniper is still in a fit of giggles, with her eyes slightly scrunched, and her hair slightly fallen in her face.
guy looks at her.
really looks at her.
he notices the way the side of her mouth quirk when she smiles too big, the way her eyelashes fall perfectly on her skin, the way her nose shapes. almost everything about her is perfect.
he's lying to himself. everything about her is perfect.
he pushes the fallen blonde hair, off of her forehead, and tucks it gently behind her ear, his touch leaving chills to fall down her spine.
she opens her eyes.
she regrets opening her eyes.
guys gaze flickers between her blue eyes and her lips, as he makes the move.
he kisses her.
his lips are on hers, hers are on his.
her eyes flutter shut, as she takes in a feeling of his warm lips, loving every second of it.
but she hates it.
but she loves it.
she pulls away, and pushes guy away from her, giving her the space to sit up straight.
guy looks at her, regret in his eyes, as she watches her struggle to untie the skates with shaky hands.
she throws them off, and stands up quickly, her breathing now at a rapid pace.
"i-i gotta go."
she speed walks away, leaving guy stunned at her reaction. but he thought she wanted him to kiss her? he thought it was perfect.
he thought it was meant to be.
he guesses not.
