At the dinner table, Minho dropped a bomb. "What do you mean you're getting married?" Beomja demanded, her voice rising in disbelief.

"Yeri will be my wife, end of discussion," Minho asserted, his tone firm but tinged with apprehension.

"How thoughtful of you to not even ask me first," Beomja retorted sharply, her words laced with bitterness. Before Minho could respond, she interrupted, "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot only your consent matters in this family, right?"

Minho sighed heavily, his frustration palpable, and dropped his fork on the table with a loud clatter. "Yeri is the right woman for me to marry, the best woman," he stated firmly, though a hint of defensiveness crept into his voice.

"So the person you'd marry is the best, but the one I want is awful and dishonest?"

Minho retreated to the tranquility of the garden, seeking solace amidst the turmoil. Beomja, realizing the need to mend the rift, followed him outside and enveloped him in a warm embrace, silently conveying her understanding and support.

After their heartfelt moment, Beomja made her way to the kitchen, where she encountered Haein descending the stairs, a bouquet of flowers in her hands, seemingly unaware of the tension that had unfolded moments before.

Haein thought that her dad's favorite flowers might help to calm him down after their heated argument last night. She hoped that by showing this gesture of peace, he might reconsider and return her car keys.

"Auntie, do you think this bouquet will calm him down?" Haein asked her aunt, concerned.

"Maybe, dear. But he's already moved on. He's got a lot on his mind," Beomja replied cryptically.

"Like what?"

"You'll see soon enough, my dear,"

Beomja teased, her expression sly. Haein shrugged off her aunt's mysterious words, knowing her father's busy schedule often consumed his thoughts. As Haein turned to leave, Beomja's smirk widened.

"Haein, why don't you tie it with a nice ribbon?"

"Oh, I don't have any ribbons at the moment."

"Don't worry, I put one in the top drawer of your father's study," Beomja said, her smirk growing even wider.

"Thanks, Auntie. You're the best," Haein said, grateful for her aunt's help, unaware of the mischievous gleam in Beomja's eyes as she left the room.

Entering her father's room, Haein rummaged through the drawer in search of the ribbon, but her hand brushed against something unexpected—a black box. She chuckled, assuming her father had left her a peace offering after their earlier disagreement.

Opening it, she was taken aback by the sight of a diamond ring. "Awh. He must have been so angry he forgot to give me my gift," she mused aloud."This is so old-fashioned. It's not like I'm getting married," she muttered, her irritation palpable as she examined the ring further.

However, her amusement turned to anger as she noticed a name engraved inside the ring Yeri Haein's brows furrowed in anger at the discovery.

She stormed into the garden, the ring clenched tightly in her hand, and shouted, "How could you do this to me?" Her father sighed inwardly, motioning for her to sit down.

"Sweetheart, let's talk calmly."

Rolling her eyes, she stormed off to Yeri's house next door, with her father and her aunt following close behind.

Yeri, on her way to her car, was met with Haein's angry gaze. "Haein, is everything fine? Did you talk to your father?" she asked.

"No, I didn't, but you both obviously talked behind my back." Yeri's confusion turned to understanding as she noticed the ring in Haein's hand.

"How long have you two been dating? Since when did you start scheming behind my back?"

"Haein, please calm down, I'll explain everything."

But Haein wasn't having it, "Why is everyone telling me to calm down? Look, Yeri, I trusted you. You were my confidante."

"I still am."

Haein's voice cracked with betrayal, "There's no such thing. It ended the moment you accepted this stupid marriage proposal."

Haein's father and Beomja caught up, with Minho standing in front of Yeri and reaching out for his daughter's hand, but she shoved it away.

"Let's go inside and talk," he suggested. Haein, however, was resolute. "I'm not going into this woman's house!"

"Keep quiet, people are staring." Beomja sighed and advised.

"I don't care. Let everyone see the betrayal. Dad, did you easily forget Mom? Did she mean anything to you?"

"Haein, your mother and I loved each other so much. We were happy, but fate intervened, and it was her time. Look, I'm not disrespecting your mother's memory. I just know that I'll be happy with Yeri."

"Tch, and like an idiot, I was thinking how I could make it up to you."

"Haein, I never intervened in your dating life!"

"That's because I've never done such a thing! What would you do if I had done this, huh?"

Her father smiled, attempting to diffuse the tension. "I'd be happy for you to love and be loved."

"Is that so? Is that why you didn't let Aunt Beomja marry her loved one?" Beomja's eyes darted between Haein and Minho, a silent plea for understanding. Haein simply raised her eyebrows in defiance.

"Whoever you marry, I'll support you, Haein," Minho insisted, trying to ease the tension.

Haein's eyes shifted thoughtfully, then a wicked smirk crossed her lips as she uttered, "Anyone you say?"

Her father and aunt exchanged puzzled glances, both taken aback by her sudden change in demeanor. "Are you okay?" her aunt asked, concerned.

"I'm fine, just fine. Here's your ring dad, I don't want to be late," Haein replied, handing back the ring with a sly grin.

Without another word, she turned and walked away, her smirk lingering behind her. "I'll see you later," she called back, her tone oddly ominous.

Minho approached Yeri, and they settled into conversation in her garden."Yeri, Haein had a strange smirk when I mentioned the marriage," Minho said.

"Perhaps she appreciates your support."

"I'm not sure. I just have a bad feeling," Minho admitted.

"What's the worst she could do?" Yeri asked.

"Yeah, you're right. What could she possibly do?" Minho echoed, trying to reassure himself.
