Maisarah's body jolted. The world seemed to stop. Without blinking, Maisarah stared at Tengku Qayyum's faint face. Was Tengku Qayyum's proposal earlier real? Her mind went blank, unable to think of anything else.

Maisarah never imagined that she would be formally proposed to by Tengku Qayyum. Just moments after being rejected by Iskandar, now she was being proposed to by Tengku Qayyum. Everything happened in one night. Maisarah hadn't anticipated any of it.

Maisarah swallowed hard before releasing Tengku Qayyum's hand. She didn't know what answer to give. Everything happened too fast. Maisarah looked at Tengku Qayyum. The young man seemed impressed by her reaction. Maisarah blinked.

What should she do?

Her heart still belonged to Iskandar.

"My heart belongs to Iskandar," Maisarah stated. Truthfully, Maisarah didn't want to marry Tengku Qayyum. She had never agreed to accept Tengku Qayyum into her life. Even if he were to submit like a true man, Maisarah refused to accept him.

Tengku Qayyum smiled, shaking his head. He turned his body towards the sea, feeling a pang of sadness at Maisarah's confession. It was understandable for Maisarah to reject his proposal. The girl was still in turmoil over the bitter events earlier. "It's futile waiting for him, Mai. It's better to accept a man who is willing to accept you as you are."

Maisarah looked into Tengku Qayyum's face. Her hand rose to clutch her chest, observing Tengku Qayyum's figure up and down. "Why would you marry me? I'm not a good woman like other women out there. There are many bad things said about me. I admit I'm arrogant. So, it's better for you to choose another woman. One who is more deserving. Your family is a religious family. Do you think I deserve to be a part of your family?"

Tengku Qayyum's tongue pressed against his molars. His head shook as he listened to Maisarah's words. Maisarah shouldn't have said that. Although from the beginning, Tengku Qayyum acknowledged that Maisarah was an arrogant woman, but now Tengku Qayyum didn't care about all that anymore.

"Have you forgotten?" Tengku Qayyum suddenly asked.

Maisarah's forehead furrowed. "Forgotten what?"

Tengku Qayyum turned to look at Maisarah, who was frowning in confusion. "What you did to me the other day. I have to take responsibility. Your accusations against me tarnished your dignity. It tarnished the country's dignity as well," Tengku Qayyum said with a sardonic smile.

"So, even if you reject it, you will still be my wife, Maisarah. The proposal earlier was just to get an official answer, even though I knew you would reject it. Princess, the answer to my proposal is just yes or yes."

Tengku Qayyum smiled until his eyes almost disappeared. Handsome but actually mocking Maisarah, who must have thought their marriage would never happen. Quite annoying, isn't it?

Maisarah gaped in disbelief. So, Tengku Qayyum deliberately made that proposal earlier? Maisarah's chest heaved. She felt incredibly frustrated. Indeed... this was inviting trouble. It would have been better if she hadn't wasted her time talking about her feelings earlier.

"I hate you!" Maisarah shouted as she kicked off her sandals and threw them towards Tengku Qayyum. Tengku Qayyum's smile faded, replaced by surprise. He then ran away from Maisarah's rage. Not out of fear, but Tengku Qayyum burst into laughter for successfully teasing Maisarah.

"I will never marry you! Never, ever!!" Maisarah yelled as she chased after Tengku Qayyum. Her hand raised high, clutching the sandals she had discarded earlier. If she could, Maisarah would definitely smack Tengku Qayyum's head. Let him lose his memory!
