Lunch came around and I got used to the usual routine, from Pete trying to grab my every attention to Amanda giving me "the look". Of course Ty and Ayden would talk to me too, which made lunch all the more bearable having to sit near the other two... I will also admit I did eat my food this time, even if it does nothing for me, but atleast there is the promise that later tonight I will get to feed my "dog". Hehe. God I'm hungry for some raw meat. All I had time for last night was a grown owl.
It seemed no one knew about the dinner Ayden is hosting for me tonight, because if they did Pete would definitely be running his mouth, complaining that I should hang with him. I don't know why but it seemed like this group was never friends to begin with. I get the vibe that Ty is trying to get Amanda, in fact that could have been going on while she was still dating Pete. Ayden looks like he can't stand Pete, though I don't know if it's because Pete likes me or if Ayden is just tired of the dumb kid running his mouth all the damn time.
Amanda then flips her long blond hair and stands up, saying, "I'm leaving. I have stuff to do for Mrs. Turner's class."
Everyone just kind of brushed her off with "Ok, later.", without really looking at her. Then she turned to stare at me, and I suddenly got it. She's used to having the attention, not getting it taken away by some newbie. I mean, maybe it has something to do with Pete not liking her either, he seems the type to make a girl feel special then dump her when he's bored, making the girl feel like they had something special when of course, they never did. But it could also be because absolutely no one talks to her in this group anymore. Everyone is so in tune to what I've been up to that they don't really care about anything else. Suddenly I don't hate her, or whatever I felt towards her before. Now I just feel bad. I don't even try, I just walk in to a room and everyone is up my ass, wondering what I'm up to. Uh, I wish I could tell her everything, but of course I can't. Besides, she left anyway.
After my last period, history, I caught up with Ayden in the hallway.
"Hey Brooke, we still on for later?"
"Yep," I say with a smile. I really am excited.
"Alright cool. Tell your dog I said hi." Then he walked off.
Hi. Luna said.
Now, now, don't have an attitude, he's just a boy.
Exactly, so don't get any ideas about him. He will never be able to make you feel the way our mate will.
We're just friends.
Yeah, for now. Just get on home, I'm hungry. Those nachos were disgusting.
