I know I promised myself I would never invade her space, but after she ran away from me, I knew I had to pursue her. Every time she's having fun, and I think she's about to open up, she pulls away and leaves me hanging. This isn't fair anymore. I walk over to the bench where my keys and wallet are laying, pick them up, and head for my car.
It's a grey Hybrid. My grandma got it for me when I was fifteen, before I even had a permit. Now I've had my licence for nearly a year. I get in and turn the key in the ignition, hoping Brooke didn't get too far ahead of me. How is she getting home anyway, if she got a ride here?
I make my way to her house, and even though I've only been the back ways, I know my way to the actual street. All I have to do when I get there is count five houses down from the forest exit on the left. I turn on the headlights so I can see better in the darkness, and then I saw it. The all white wolf, that's been in my backyard twice. Its walking along the street, and I am a good five car spaces away. I turn off my headlights then, and decide to follow it, because something was telling me that this wolf was somehow connected to all the secrecy going on. I wasn't sure about how I knew, in fact, it seems really weird of me to think that at all, but I continue to follow my gut instinct.
I soon find that it's heading towards the forest, and decide that it's time to abandon the car. I pull off to the side of the road, take the keys out, and make my way towards the wolfs direction. I bet it's already made it's way well in to the forest, because I've been keeping my distance so I wouldn't be seen by it. When I make my way through, I see it in the distance, taking the forest side ways rather than forward. I didn't even think of Brooke's house (it's not like I really remember how to get there anyway) all I had time for was to follow the wolf. It's not until after five minutes that I realize I might get lost, or even eaten by the wolf, but at that moment I didn't care. All I could think was that this could be my only chance. In between Brooke keeping something from me, and this being the third time I've seen the wolf, something was definitely going on, and I knew I had to press on.
After another five minutes, I see a cayote nearing the white wolf. Seeing Pete on the news torn apart and dead imediately ran through my mind. Then I worry about what is about to happen. I can't let the cayote kill the wolf, I think to myself. How will I ever figure out anything without it?
The wolf growls, and that's when I knew it spot the other creature. The cayote bares it's teeth, then jumps from it's perch on the log, and pounces on the wolf. I imediately fear for it's life. Not the cayote, but the wolf, and the whole time they are battling it out, I'm crouching behind a big bush. The wolf finds its way on top, takes its front paws and with one holds the cayotes face to the ground, and with the other, holds the creatures paws to one side. The cayote stops struggling, and looks in to the wolfs eyes. He knows this is his end. The wolf lets out a growl, then bites in to the cayotes neck.
When the wolf gets off, I know the other animal is dead. I see the wolf shake itself, limp away a few feet from where I am, and takes a look around. Then, the craziest, most unbelievable thing happens. the wolf shifts in to a girl. When I move my body out from behind the bushes a bit to get a closer look, I see Brooke laying in the grass.
Oh. My. God.
So, he finally found her out! What do you think? I know I wasn't very descriptive on JUST HOW IT IS THAT HE REACTS, but you will find out in the next chapter! :D We still need to find out about Brookes Mate, too. Plus, how is everything going to go down? You will just have to wait and see! While I'm keeping details on the Royal family hush hush, I will go ahead and say that a love triangle is on the way, and drama is on the horizon!! :O I did so much planning on this story that I already know how it ends! Then again, you don't. There's just not enough hours in the day to write, you know? :/ So vote, comment, and enjoy! As usual, thanks goes out to all my fans! :)
