I'm hungry again. Luna says.
So what, you had your owl tonight.
I don't understand why you care to eat mortal food. It's disgusting, and we had owl yesterday too. Why can't we go sniff out a cayote?
That actually sounded really good, but I would not be swayed by her tonight.
Look, it took a lot of energy to get Kai to let me go to the boys dinner tonight, I really don't feel like pissing him off by staying out any later.
Ugh, fine.
I walked through the golf course in my wolf form, I know I left the house through the front but Luna wanted to stretch and see the moon, and I know I don't let her out often, so we had a small walk before I decided to change back. Now I was in my human form.
I walked past the neighborhoods taking my good old time, a street lamp on at every stop sign. I don't live too far away from Ayden, but not so close either. It's a good twenty minute walk. I would run home in my wolf form but I don't want to run the risk of any one seeing me. Well, Luna. The last thing I need is to be spotted by someone when I'm so close to peoples homes. I'd rather leave that part of me in the forest. Some cars drive by now and then, and I'm still walking idly by. Towards the last five minutes I have to turn in to a forest area, as a short cut to my house. I watch where I step, even though it's dark and I can barely see. I tune in to my wolf and enhance my sight so I can get around all the branches and stones easier, when suddenly I hear a noise.
"Psssst."
I turn my head around, trying to see who or what it was. Suddenly, it reveals itself to me out of the shadows of the night.
"Hey there, pretty lady."
"Pete? What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you of course," he replies.
"Why would you look for me out here, this late?"
"Well, you're here right?"
"But how did you know that?"
"Let's just say I've been keeping tabs on you."
"What?"
"I didn't stutter. It's exactly what it sounds like."
"You've been stalking me?"
"Yeah, so? I want you, I've made that clear in school."
Suddenly I didn't like where this was going.
"Look, I'm going to go home, see you Monday."
He suddenly steps in front of me, and is so close I can smell his breath. He's drunk. I can smell the alcohol on him.
"Don't leave, not yet. I just want a taste."
"What?"
"Come here," he pulls me closer to him and I slap him, hard.
His head jerks back and his hand goes to his cheek, I turn away and get ready to run, but he pulls me back.
"Come here, bitch."
He has me by my arms now, and pushes me up against the nearest tree, his nose touching mine. I try to jerk out of his grip, but his hold on me is strong.
"I won't hurt you," he whispers in my ear.
"Get the fuck away from me!" I scream at him.
"Don't worry baby, I don't bite," he says, trying to hike up my dress.
"Yeah, well I do."
"What?"
It was a split second decision, but my body was quickly replaced with my wolf, Luna. Pete was flown back a few feet in the process.
"What the fuck?!" He yells as he gets up.
Lunas pov
I meet his eyes with mine and see his is full of worry, but at that moment, I don't feel bad. I pounce on his body in two strides, and he barely has time to utter a scream as bite in to his neck and tear out his flesh.
