Once again, for the third time I woke up back in my bed; the IVs placed back into my arms and the sharp pains that riddled my body. So, as I once was before, I wouldn't be walking around in this condition for another couple days but this time I was intent on actually healing. The moment I even stirred awake the room was quickly filled by the owners of the house. A normal person might be a bit overwhelmed and that exactly was I was. Overwhelmed. I'm so used to being by myself that I feel kind of suffocated.
Sitting up, I could now clearly take in their faces, but one remained quiet. Percy. He stood the farthest away from me. Just looking. But they all looked a little older than me except for two. If anything, I felt a little embarrassed. Everyone is looking at me intently. I couldn't help but go a little red.
Lauren offered a reassuring smile from across the room and even from someone I didn't know really was reassuring. Something about all of them made me feel comforted and calm. Except Percy. He gave me a really off vibe and I didn't like it. Nonetheless, I'm here now and for as long as I stay, I won't let a single thing squander my time here, just because I'm not looking for friends doesn't mean that I'm looking to make enemies either.
"So" Niki spoke loudly trying to clear the silence that had fallen in the room. I didn't need to ask to know that he was dying to ask a question, it was written all over his face. "I'm-"
"Niki" I answered. "And that's Luke, Jungwon, Lauren, Percy, I remember."
"Your voice is deeper than I thought it would be...anyway I didn't mean to undermine your intelligence, but I didn't want to assume it was above average- I mean in your wolf form of course. I'm sure in your human form you are very intelligent..." This kid.
"Well, you know our names, but we aren't exactly sure of yours. Its Riven right?" Luke added.
"Uh yeah" I was a little confused on how they knew my name, but I think if I can recall we go to the same school?
"Well, Riven. It's nice to finally meet you", Jungwon smiled.
"I have like, a million questions I want to ask you! I mean I've seen you around school but still." Lauren continued.
"So, I hear, or rather overheard. But if you don't mind, I also have a few questions for all of you."
"Of course, you must be a little confused.' Jungwon agreed. "Why don't we take this into the living room, if that's alright with you Riven?" I nodded and leant on the rack holding the IV's and rolled it along with me as I walked. Just as I reached the doorway I faltered slightly and threw my un-bandaged hand against the nearest wall, Luke stood behind me and stepped forward to keep me steady. I felt a hand place itself securely around my waist and the other put my arm over his shoulder as I continued to walk out into the hallway, and it stayed there until I sat down.
"So, Riven, what do you wanna know first?" Niki asked.
"Personally, to you first, are you okay?"
"What, you mean after I was body slammed into a wall and then punched into the ceiling?" He clarified with a joking tone.
"Yeah that" I quipped.
''Yeah of course, I'm a werewolf duh but I'm fine thanks for asking."
"He punched you into the ceiling?' Luke mocked.
"He caught me off guard!"
"Okay now what's your real first question?" Niki asked after a quick sneer at Luke.
Honestly, I wasn't completely sure what I wanted to know first, or whether I even wanted to know anything at all. They say ignorance is bliss and honestly, I could use a little bit of paradise. I knew what they were dying to ask, and there were some things I couldn't tell them without some answers of my own first, so I suppose there's one that takes precedence.
