Welp apparently, I fell asleep on the couch and when I woke up, I found myself back in bed. The sunlight was pouring in through the window, so I had only been asleep for a few hours' tops. When I looked down after a yawn, I noticed a plate of waffles and a cup of orange juice beside it. I was kind of excited, more so for the juice rather than the waffles. I don't wanna be that person but if I'm being honest pancakes were just downright better. They were fluffy and just delicious. Oranges juice is also one of the best juices in my opinion also but as much as I would love to, you really shouldn't drink too much of it. But whoever my chef was, was damn good. Some of the best waffles I've ever eaten, but then again, my parents didn't really make anything...Or I guess from what I heard they weren't really my parents.

Speaking of my "parents', they never really seemed to be worried about me at all growing up. They always kind of dismissed me almost like I don't exist to them or something so I'm sure that my absence hasn't affected them in the slightest. It might sound sad, but I don't really care too much. I've been here maybe a few weeks, and these people seem more like a family to me than my own family. Although maybe what Percy said was actually right. I mean it actually kind of made sense.

That wasn't the only thing that bugged me though. The one question that raises the biggest question mark for them was the fact that, was it possible they knew what I was this entire time? Is this why they were always so weird about stuff when I asked the occasional question?

Steering away from my thoughts I picked up the tray they were neatly placed on top of and put it on my lap before scarfing down the whole lot, juice included. I had no idea how well walking would go without Luke, but I was determined to at least try, so without any further ado I swung my legs over the side of the bed in one quick motion and took each of the two handles on the tray in my hands before pushing myself up. My balance was a little off at first, but regardless, I was up now I just had to take the first daring step. Thankfully the bedroom door was open, I just had to walk out of it, go down the hallway, make a left and put down the tray all without eating the pavement. It shouldn't be too hard.

I favored my uninjured leg as I hobbled, I was afraid my firm grip on the tray would snap it in half or something, but I was doing okay and didn't want to mess it up now. I had made it halfway down the hallway when I had to lean on the wall to rest briefly, where in hell had all of my energy gone. I feel so weak, it's infuriating.

A quarter of the way there, I can do this. I hobbled once more until the kitchen was in my sight and was getting slightly lightheaded once I had reached the doorway. I couldn't hear anyone in the house so I was probably alone and calling for Luke or even Lauren probably would have been pointless anyway. My hopes were at their highest when I reached the island; unfortunately, that wasn't really a good thing. I really pushed my luck this time and ended up stumbling over myself, but not before slamming the tray onto the granite surface and landing on the floor. Sure, I may have fallen, but I did what I set out to do. I returned the tray to the kitchen all by myself; I'd say that was a win.

I lifted myself off the ground to a sitting position and leant my back against the cupboards. Now I just had to make my way back to my room. However, before I could even comprehend doing the impossible, four of the five of them practically burst into the room all with a shared puzzled expression.

"Riven what the hell are you doing!?" Luke scolded and knelt down beside me.

"Sitting" I jested but none of them looked amused.

"Riven" he said sternly.

"I wanted to bring the tray back, and I did it" I explained triumphantly and pointed to the tray sitting on the side. I guess I did use a little too much strength. The poor object was a bit bent. Sorry...ha-ha.
