Sometimes, it's not laziness, but your mind is locking you like a paralysis demon, but that demon is you. That demon is Isagi holding himself down.
The last thing Isagi had expected to see was the familiar ceiling of Blue Lock.
Was he sure to be dead, or was this his version of an afterlife?
The smell of coffee filled the air, a sound like a movement of fabric and his conscious breathing. Why was he here? If anything, he expected to be 6 feet under, accidentally buried alive.
He should be buried alive, it was the best this that they could do for him. Even if his survival instincts caved in to scream until his lungs gave up on him- his lungs would stop either way; all that matters is what way he is willing to go.
Isagi tried to sit up; he did, but the thought of his wishes coming true was still there, tying him down to the bed. Like a dream he refuses to wake up from, but it is a reality he refuses to acknowledge
"You overexerted yourself and passed out. You've been asleep for the past 10 hours. Here, what would you like to drink? Coffee or water?" Noel Noa's back faced him, expression unreadable as he givers over the coffee maker.
"If I were to go through the rest of this shit, then coffee," Isagi's voice was hoarse. Noel nodded.
The tired boy reluctantly sat up, feet dangling at the edge of the bed, clasping his hands around the warm mug.
"What happened," the mentor asked.
"I didn't stick to the diet and the sleeping schedule-"
"No, that's not what I meant," Noel's back as still facing him. Isagi looked up, eyebrows scrunched. "What happened from the start,"
"Excuse me?"
"How did you become like this?"
"Like what?" Isagi's voice increased in volume, back straightened.
"You have your life ahead of you. You're Blue Lock's heart and the pride and joy of Ego's creation. What is troubling you?" Noel faces him, grabs a chair and sits directly in front of him.
"I- I was- My-" a lip wobble, a squeeze of the mug, a clog in the throat, a teardrop.
"Isagi," Noel gently placed a hand on his shoulder, "Are you okay?"
That was all it took.
"No-" he sniffed, "I'm not okay,"
Noel wrapped his arms around him, placing both mugs on the bedside table. His hand made a circular motion on his back as the boy (such a young boy) cried his heart out. His words were inaudible, but Noel was there for him.
"I don't know what you're going through, but I feel as if we went through the same experiences," Isagi tried to lower his sobs to listen to Noel, still wrapped around him like a warm blanket.
Noel continued filling up the empty-like room with some noise, "Ego and I used to be in the same team; we were rivals-"
"Just leave me alone, please." A child's voice should never sound this way. A child should never be like... this. Isagi's arms slumped on Noel's shoulders, pushing with all his might, but not even that strength could push off a pillow. Noel's grip tightened, keeping the child safe in his arms, away from the world's harm.
Noel continued, "I hated Ego with the depth of my heart. He stole my spotlight, goals, and dreams, yet he dared to smile and call me friend."
Isagi's sobs softened, body fully leaning to Noel.
