"Look, I didn't want to be a trouble kid." - Said Percy. The ranks of desperate fans struggling trying to reach him. A countenance of pride formed on his face like someone who knows he succeeded. For the first time in his life, he was at the top of the world, not holding it behind his back.—— Interview scenario ——
Question: what made Trouble Kids great?
Maicon W. (rolling stone head writer): I think it was the exposé aspect of their music. It was a big hit in the chest for the music world having a punk rock band that behaved in a way not seen for twenty years at that point, talking so much shit about big celebrities. Comparing the rich and famous to gods and talking about themselves as demigods, that have to clean up their mess. How they leave humanity to rot while they watch in their palace on the sky? that was strong stuff man.
Becky Jones. (music historian): It was a matter of the "IT" factor. Some people have, some don't. That's why some people with talent don't thrive. Is not being able to take your eyes of someone. Is this invisible force that grabs you and pleads you to look closer. They all had that.
Annabeth Chase. (band Manager) (Lead guitarist's wife): It was me. You know how hard it was to organize that concert in a way it wasn't a beacon of light for hungry monster? to get people to sing with random kids with broken instruments?...And most importantly of all. What made it a hit, what the heads of the music industry and defenders of intellectual analysis don't want you to remember; it all went viral with a clip posted on social media.

Percy Jackson: (Lead guitarist): this is a documentary about the band Trouble kids, right? Why am I only here?
*he reclines on the chair.Interviewer: Don't worry, they will come tomorrow, I just wanted to have your perspective at first.
Percy: right...
Interviewer: well, just be honest. Tell me about when you had the idea maybe, what were you doing for example?
——Transcription of the testimony——
I had just moved into a small studio in brooklyn after starting college and Annabeth, Hazel, Piper and Leo were coming over. We were gathering in my apartment for a movie night. I believe we were planning to choose between "almost famous" and "the school of rock" which was ridiculously on theme considering what would happen.
At that time the only one of us that was famous was Piper, and she hated it. A big producer was trying to sing her up for a demo at the time. It was common knowledge that she knew how to sing and being the daughter of a famous actor didn't hurt her chances. But at that time she made most of her money as a model. It didn't matter that she wasn't tall enough or hated to be directed. A single photo of her was enough to afford living in NY for a month.
"you know, if I was you, I would definitely sign up a demo. When i was a kid i really wanted to be a rockstar." - i joked without thinking much of it. I knew how to play guitar because originally i had saved one from the garbage. It was pretty neat, with a blue undertone and 3 working strings.
"that's because you aren't me." - she replied. It was hard to sympathise with Piper's struggles at the time. When you work three jobs to pay for community college is hard to understand why singing for a couple hours would be a deal breaker.
I feel like that was the main reason people didn't like Piper at the start. It's weird to have all these complex figures that came from broken homes and a genuine place of hardship and have your favourite band member be the girl that stole a car to get her father's attention.
Wanna hear something fun? that's how we met. We all went to a school for troubled youth. I had been expelled 8 times at that point, Leo had been caught in small crimes, Hazel had a really dirty mouth for catholic school and Piper had stolen a car, which gave our parents the brilliant idea of putting us in a place where we'd meet other kids that fucked up a lot."
interviewer: "Mr. Jackson...we are going to edit the demigod stuff out. You can tell the truth."
Percy: "Ok."
So as i was saying, we actually met because of this crazy prophecy. But i don't think that's relevant for the band thing. It could have its own book series just for it. "Having plenty of girls falling over me doesn't seem bad." - Leo said while fixing a rubik's cube. He never stays still. Oh, well, i suppose some people won't know who Leo is, but believe me when i say, the second he gives an interview you'll never forget. - "I just don't try because i can't play anything."
"i play the piano, kinda." - Hazel explained. - "and Nico is great at the drums."
"really? i can't really imagine that." - Annabeth said while she walked from the kitchen. At that moment in time i remember her being perfectly happy. With her smile lines beginning to develop and her hair in complicated braids. And if she was happy I was happier. - "cookies?" - she offered and a took a handful while she sat by my side.
"hum...rum." - Hazel mumbled while eating a cookie. She never spoke with her mouth full. It's funny to see her in all those fancy galas now a days and remember how uptight she used to be. - "Will got him to take classes for anger management."
"You know who was in a band when she was younger? Thalia." - Annabeth pointed out - "Oh Gods! you know who else was in a freaking band? Percy and Grover!" - She busted out laughing.
"don't!" - i screamed jokingly!
"they played the flute and a broken guitar in a talent show at Yancy Academy! A Mariah Carey song."
"but that was only because it was the only song Grover knew." - I was always a "Nirvana" kinda guy.
"I bet his mother still has the tape!" - She knew that story because there was no embarrassing baby pictures for my mother to punish me with. But there was video footage of me as a kid jamming to Mariah Carey and being booed of stage by Nancy "Bobofit" or whatever her name was. In fact, Nancy, if you're watching this...
Interviewer: that's for a written report.
Percy: well, then if you're reading this, i really regret not punching you in the face instead of "pushing" you into that water fountain.
Anyway, that afternoon we just watched school of rock and relaxed. But the idea was there, like a seed that was planted in our heads. A few days later, as if it was fate - and I now fate - camp Half-blood announced a battle of the bands.
———————————————————
Percy: Is it good for today? I don't want to tell everything by myself and I really need to pick up the kids from school, besides, I don't remember everything exactly, I think Annabeth would kill me if I said something wrong.
Interviewer: It's alright right, that's enough for now. Can I just ask one question?
Percy: sure.
Interviewer: If this whole idea was something overnight, you weren't a little overwhelmed by this unexpected fame?
Percy: I think demigods are a little reckless, especially the best ones. Even if we were aware of what would happen we would not give up, besides it is not like it was the most sudden situation I had to deal with, I have already been transformed into a guinea pig, for the love of the gods!
Interviewer: (smile) right, I would ask you to develop more...but I think that's it. Thank you very much for coming.
Percy: no prob ', I appreciate it.
