Sans left the house and started walking down to the Saloon.
*im hungry, i’ll be able to get something here.
Sans pushed open the doors of the Saloon once more, and was greeted by Dina.
“Howdy howdy, skeleton!”
“can i get a slider? with ketchup, again.”
“Comin’ right up!”
Sans walked over and sat next to a monster with a star-shaped head and a cowboy hat.
“you waiting for your food, too?” Sans asked.
“Yeah, takin’ a while though. You wanna play a game of cards while we wait, skeleton?”
“sure.”
Starlo pulled out a box of cards titled “Duno.”
“Name’s Starlo, nice to meet you, uh…”
“sans. sans the skeleton.”
“Well, Sans, the rules of this game are simple. It’s kinda like that other card game with a rather similar name that I can’t mention since it isn’t canon to this universe. But, there’s some extra rules too. For example, if you have more than one of the same card in your deck, you can do a ‘combo’ which allows you to skip the other player’s turn until you’re out of the same type of card. When you combo with a block card, instead of skipping their turn however-many-times, you skip their turn once, and then that person is blocked from using special cards for however-many-turns.”
*barely even got a word of that. slow it down, dude.
“yeah, i understood that.”
“Alright, I’ll be dealin’ us our cards now.”
Starlo laid down 7 cards for Sans and 7 for himself. Sans looked at his deck, and looked at Starlo, who was looking at his deck with a grim expression.
*either he’s got a horrible deck or he’s a really good actor. anyway,
Sans looked at his deck.
*my deck isn’t half bad. although…
When it came to Sans’ turn, he just drew another card.
“Hm?”
Sans continues drawing cards and not placing any down for the next 17 turns, and Starlo is now down to 3 cards.
“The hell is he doin’?”
Just as Starlo is about to place a +2 card, Sans warns him.
“do you wanna have a bad time? ‘cause if you place down that card, you REALLY are not gonna like what happens next.”
Starlo hesitates, but still eventually places the card. When it comes to Sans’ turn, his smile is just a little wider.
“watch this.”
Starlo stares in bewilderment as Sans combos him with around 15 +2 cards.
“What.”
“heh, i warned ya.”
“I forfeit. You win. I’m done.”
Sans got the feeling something was off, and opened his eyes.
“huh. what a strange dream.”
