Taehyung -

Loud music pounds in my ears, the sharp scent of alcohol hangs in the air, and inebriated people stagger around me. I hate being here, yet I can’t bring myself to leave. I’m here because of my girlfriend, Soohin. I can never say no to her, not even once. I adore her too much. She’s six years older than me, and maybe that part is why I’m so drawn to her.

It’s not my fault I’m into older people; there’s something about their maturity and understanding that I admire. Soohin and I have been together for eight months now, and I love how I can be myself around her. But even after all this time, I feel like I barely know her. There’s this mystery about her that keeps pulling me in, and I don’t know if I’ll ever figure her out completely.

It’s not like she’s deliberately hiding anything about herself. We just never have deep, meaningful conversations. She also avoids talking about her family or friends, but that’s okay, I guess. Just because you’re dating someone doesn’t mean you have to know everything about them, right?

I get up from my seat and walk toward her. She’s lost in the music, dancing effortlessly to the rhythm despite the pounding beats.

Partying isn’t my thing, but if it makes her happy, I don’t mind being here.

“Let’s dance,” she whispers softly in my ear, her voice cutting through the noise.

I wish I could join her, but it’s already too late.

“We have a meeting tomorrow,” I say gently. “Let’s come back another day, Soohin.”

As the music blares even louder, she leans in and whisper in my ear again.

"I don't want to," she says, shaking her head, her words slightly slurred.

She’s drunk. I sigh, realizing I’ll have to take her home. She’s never comfortable with me talking about visiting her place. She once told me she lives with her older brother and thinks he’d find it strange if I came over.

I take a deep breath and gently grab her hand.

"It’s late," I say softly, guiding her out of the bar. I flag down a cab, help her in, and give the driver Soohin’s address.

As the taxi starts moving, she turns to me.

“Are we going home?” she asks, her voice soft and slurred. I don’t reply, just keep looking at her. She’s so beautiful. Even in this drunken state, she’s stunning. I could spend hours just staring at her like this.

When she drifts off to sleep, I gently rest her head on my shoulder. The drive is peaceful, quiet except for the sound of the engine humming beneath us.

Soon, we arrive at our destination a massive mansion. It’s hard to believe she lives here with just her brother, but I guess it’s not impossible. She’s a senior employee with a great salary, after all. I carefully help her out of the taxi and start walking toward the mansion. As we approach, my eyes catch a figure on the first-floor balcony, a man smoking a cigarette.

He notices us almost immediately. Before I can even press the doorbell, he’s at the door. Now, I see him clearly. He’s strikingly attractive, with tattoos covering his hands and a muscular build.

So this is Soohin’s brother. But oddly enough, they don’t look anything alike.

I feel uneasy as he keeps staring at me, his gaze intense and unwavering. Breaking eye contact, I ask him,

"Is this Soohin’s house?"

"Yes, it is. May I ask who you are?" he responds in a deep, husky voice.

"We’re colleagues, actually. I’m Taehyung, her junior." - I reply

"Oh," he says, almost dismissively, before taking her from me.

“Give her some hangover pills,” I add, “She has a meeting tomorrow.”

He nods silently, then glances back at me.

"I’ll take my leave" I say again, feeling the weight of his stare.

He nods again, but something about his expression makes me feel like he wants to say something.

Whatever.....

I turn and walk away, sensing a strong, lingering gaze on my back. Ignoring it, I get into the cab.

Leaning back, I let out a deep sigh. The day has been endless, and I’m drained. I just hope Soohin doesn’t scold me for dropping her off and meeting her brother. But what else could I have done? I couldn’t leave her alone at the bar.

When I finally reach home, I collapse onto my bed, utterly exhausted. It’s nearly 2 a.m., and all I can think about is whether I’ll manage to wake up on time tomorrow.
