Surprise Reunion

A/N: Newest Story for Charmed Family (Piper and Leo) one-shots. Some will be some I came up with and others will be some prompts I was given. They most likely will not be tied to any certain episodes.I hope you all enjoy the ride!

Prompt: It has been two months since Chris left them and Piper and Leo still struggle with how adult Chris left them until they receive an unexpected surprise.

Chapter 2: Surprise Reunion

It has been two months since baby Chris entered the world and although the parents were unbelievably happy, they could not shake the memory of big Chris. The mental images of him dying still played over and over in Leo's head. At night he can still hear Chris screaming out for him. Piper had heard Leo retell the story many times, and although she didn't have to witness it like her husband she still felt like she was grieving over him. They knew rationally that he didn't really die that day but, there was still such a feeling of sadness and loose ties. They both missed him so much, it hurt. There was a period of time where they considered traveling to the future but they knew they shouldn't as it could mess up the timeline plus they knew the magic would probably be blocked.

It was a bright and sunny day. The family had all gotten up to a simple breakfast since with a newborn the last thing Piper wanted to do was make a large breakfast. Normally, when the entire family gets together for a meal it tends to be noisy, but today is different. The only sounds heard are those from the loud chewing of the toddler and the gurgle from the baby.

"How are you guys doing?" Phoebe asked to make eye contact with both Leo and Piper.

"We are...okay" Piper said in an exasperated breath. The entire family could see through it but it was the only answer they could give. " I mean we are getting through" she followed up with another knew they were struggling and would do anything they could to get through it. The plans were the same as any day since the event. They just sat at home taking care of the kids or going to work at the club.

It was mid-day and the adults were watching the kids play in the observatory. Piper hand lay in Leo, the experience had brought them back together. They needed each other to get through the day, being apart was no longer possible.

Suddenly the room is filled with bright lights and a figure starts to appear.

"Hi mom and dad," the voice says.

"C..C..Chris" Piper stummers as Leo just looks shocked besides her. He didn't respond to his mom only pulling her into a hug. He then outreachers his arm to pull his dad in as well.

"Chris...what's wrong? Why are you back?" Paige asks, scared that the future was once again messed up.

"Nothing is wrong...mom and dad actually sent me" Chris said looking at his parents.

"Why?" Leo finally says uttering these first words since Chris had arrived.

"They sent me back...so you could heal. They told me how much struggling you had to go through watching me die and not being able to say goodbye. They wanted to make sure you saw me again to know I am okay" Chris said with a smile on his face.

"How long are you here for? Piper asked her son.

"Mom said only for the day and said if I miss dinner she will not be happy" Chris said with a chuckle. The family could see that Piper was losing up but Leo stayed still frozen with shock.

"Dad...we did it. My future is safe. You, mom, Wyatt, me, and the rest of my family are good. I accomplished what I tried to do, I am alive and happy." Chris said.

Leo's eyes begin to water. "I love you Chris"

"I love you too dad" Chris says giving his dad another hug. They spend the rest of the day together providing Piper and Leo with the much needed healing.
