A Wrong Choice

A/N: Newest Story for Charmed Family (Piper and Leo) one-shots. Some will be some I came up with and others will be some prompts I was given. I hope you all enjoy the ride!

Prompt: In Siren Song when Paige summons the dark lighter to the house Piper gets hurt badly and Paige and Leo have been overcome with guilt.

A/N 2: For this prompt I am forgetting the fact that Piper can technically self heal.

A Wrong Choice

Piper was heading up to the attic to tell Paige that the demon was definitely not a whitelighter and hopefully get some insight on her unusual pregnancy symptoms but instead was faced with an unexpected obstacle. When walking into the attic she notices Paige integrating an individual in a crystal cage.

"Paige. What are you doing?" Piper said in an angry tone after realizing a darklighter was in her house.

"Relax, Piper, I summoned him into a trap so he can tell me which one of his lovely friends is trying to kill Melissa." Paige responded nonchalantly.

"I'm sorry, did you say relax? You brought a Darklighter into our home and you want me to relax?" Piper said in a panic.

"Don't worry, the Book Of Shadows is safe downstairs." Paige Replied as the Darklighter tries to disable the trap, but zaps himself instead.

"I'm not worried about the book. Paige, you have Whitelighter genes which means this guy could kill you, not to mention my husband and my unborn child." Piper said with anger laced in her voice.

(The Darklighter disables the trap and escapes.)

"It's not like he's in a power position or anything," Paige says in response.

The Darklighters crossbow appears and he shoots for Piper and Paige. They move out of the way, nearly missing them. "Okay, I was wrong, blow him up!" Paige yells. Piper attempts to blow him up but instead fireworks appear above him.

"What the hell?" Piper said in shock. Although, before Paige can intervene an arrow goes flying in the air hitting Piper right in the upper stomach.

"Piper!" Paige screams. She quickly grabs a potion that was sitting on the table vanquishing the Darklighter. She looks down as Piper is gasping in pain.

"Leo! Leo!" Paige screams looking up. She starts to reach for the arrow.

"Stop...you ca...nt to...uch," Piper says breathlessly. Paige stops knowing she is right.

"Help!" Paige screams as she suddenly hears the front door open. She quickly hears running feet and sees Phoebe entering the room.

"Oh my God. Piper!" She belts out hitting the floor next to her sister. She quickly assesses the damage, but before she can say or do anything she sees the familiar blue light entering the attic.

"Piper!" Leo calls out desperately.

"No! Leo you can't touch it. I will do it" Phoebe quickly says before Leo can. She quickly yanks it out as Piper grunts in agony knowing that they had a short window of time.

Leo quickly hovers over her as his hands begin to glow and the wound begins to close. Piper is still breathing heavily over the ordeal. Leo immediately scoops her up. Instead she starts to pull away.

"Trash." Piper says in a light but urgent tone. Leo quickly hands her the trash can they keep in the basement for the abundance of waste that accumulates from creating all the potions. She quickly leans over it, losing her lunch as the sounds echo through the basement. Leo is rubbing her back. Phoebe is holding her hair, and Paige stands with a watchful eye ready to grab anything she may need. Exhausted from the ordinal she heavily falls against Leo, her back crashing against his chest.

"Close...too close" Piper says in a whisper as her eyes stay closed leaning against her husband.

"Leo orb her to bed," Phoebe says softly. In an instant they were gone.

Leo gently places Piper on the bed silently being grateful that they didn't make the bed that day. He pulls the blankets over her, kissing her forehead as he does. He slowly crawls into bed next to her pulling her close.

"I am so sorry Piper." Leo says remorseful with one arm holding her while his other hand lays on top of their unborn child.

"It's okay." Piper responds while falling asleep

Meanwhile Paige and Phoebe are in the basement. Paige had been pacing from the moment Piper and Leo had orbed out. "It's all my fault" she said looking at Phoebe.

"You didn't know the darklighter would break loose. It is the same tactic that has been used in the past to find out information," Phoebe says with complete sincerity. "It will be okay hunny. You saw Leo healed her, once she rests she will be back to herself.

"I still feel so bad," Paige says plopping down on the couch next to her Phoebe.

"I know hunny, but it will be okay...you will see" Phoebe responds rubbing her hand down her back.

The rest of the day was spent resting. Leo and Piper spent as much time as possible together that day feeling really lucky that everyone was okay. Tomorrow they will return to demon hunting.
