I felt the warmth of the sun on my face as I continued my nap on the sun lounger by the pool. My friends and I have all been having a pool day with music, ice tea and of course beer because what is a Pogue day out without a few beers?

"Sav" I heard JJ say from the distance.

"Savannah" "Little Routledge" I could hear his voice getting closer and closer.

"Sav, wake up, I need your help" I opened my eyes this time and looked straight into JJ's blue eyes as he stood over me. I sat up and looked around, of course I had been dreaming. I wasn't on a sun lounger by the pool, I was on a large leaf that has been my bed for the last month on this deserted island. I can't believe it had been a month since we all jumped off the Costal Venture into the middle of the ocean and ended up on Poguelandia. Named by JJ of course, but we really had made it our own. We have all learnt how to survive and how to look for our own food and stay alive.

"Get up sleepy head, time for you to learn to catch dinner" JJ held his hand out for me to grab and stand up. He was shirtless, as he had been most days the past month, and he was holding a large handmade spear.

"Oh god, J. Not this again, I am terrible with the spear" JJ has been trying to teach me to spear fish but every time I come back with nothing and he comes back with food for us all.

"You never know Sav, today might just be the day" JJ put his arm around my shoulder and led me down to the beach where most of the fish were. "Let's go kill something"

"You don't need to say it like that, sounds so barbaric" I said as he walked in front of me and turned to smirk at me.

"That's the circle of life Little Routledge, unless you want to eat coconuts forever?" He threw an empty coconut at me which I caught and threw back onto the sand.

"After the past month, I think I'm good on coconuts"

We had been drinking nothing but coconut water and while I love the taste of coconut, I am so over it. I can't wait to have a beer or just a cold glass of water with ice, it's the little things you miss.

I watched JJ finish tying the rope around the spear I would be using before he passed it to me and we both walked into the water, there were fish all around us so hopefully we could catch something.

"Remember, watch your shadow. They see that and they're gone" JJ said, reminding me to check where I am standing. We were both walking through the water slowly, trying not to make too much movement.

"Sav, Sav, Sav" JJ yelled to get my attention "It's a skate. See right there" JJ points down at this flat fish that looked like a stingray. We both argued over who was going to get it, I chickened out and JJ went for it but he missed.

"Dang it. I missed it, where is it?" He asked as we both looked for it again. I saw it just behind him and didn't want to let him down so I tried to see if I could catch it, I threw my spear into the water and when I picked it up I saw the skate stuck on the end of my stick.

"J, JJ I got it" I yelled as he turned around and came to hug me.

"You did it! We're having skate tonight" He was cheering, seeing him this happy made me want to catch more fish, but one was enough for me today.

"Full Pogue. That's food in our bellies right there" He cheered, before kissing me. "I'm so proud of you"

"It only took me a month, but I finally caught my first fish. Thank you for being my teacher" I kissed him again.

"Come on, let's go show the others" We walked hand in hand up the beach to where everyone else was sitting.

We were all sitting around in a circle on the beach and we decided to play truth or dare. Childish yes, but what else is there to do?

"John B, your turn" Sarah says, throwing my brother the handmade leaf hat we were using for the game.

"Alright, truth" John B said leaning towards Sarah.

"If you could do it all again, what would you do different?" Sarah asked, making us all think of things we would do different.

"Get the gold out before Ward did"

"Hide the cross a little better"

"Not yell Murderer at Ward, maybe"

"Look both ways before crossing the street"

"Steal a couple bottles of rum before we jumped off the boat" I said this one, making JJ look at me and laugh.

"Yeah, why didn't you do that, actually?" He bumped my shoulder as everyone laughed at us.

"Maybe because I was too busy jumping overboard to save you from drowning" I pushed his head away from me but he pulled me to him and sat me on his lap while everyone else continued to play the game. John B asked Kie if she would go home to the Figure Eight right now and of course, she said no.

I feel like some of us want to go home but some of us don't. If a plane came right now to pick us up, I wonder who would actually get on board. I don't know if I would and I think Sarah, Kie and JJ would be with me.

"JJ, truth or dare" Kie called out, getting my attention. Silly question, we all know what he's going to pick.

"I mean, do you even need to ask?" JJ raised a brow and looked with a smirk, making me roll my eyes.

"Big jump" Kie pointed at the biggest rock on the island, we have all been doing the little jumps but no one has done the big one yet.

"Well am I doing it alone?" JJ held his hand out to me, his way of seeing if I want to do the jump too.

"Highly dangerous, zero reward. Yeah, let's do it" I took his hand and we went to walk to the cliff.

"Wait no, Sav you aren't doing it" John B stood up and stopped us from walking over.

"Oh relax JB, JJ's doing it too" I walked with JJ up the cliff, we threw out shirts on the sand but kept our shorts and shoes on, it was lucky I lived in a bikini so I was wearing one the day we went on the Coastal Venture. As we got to the top JJ held my hand and held our arms into the sky and we could hear everyone cheering, except John B who looked nervous.

"You sure you want to do this?" JJ looked at me, making sure I was okay. "Want to go together or I can go first?"

"Together, always together" I said, getting nervous as we came to the edge of the cliff, JJ didn't let go of my hand as he looked at me and started counting to 3. When he reached 3 we both took the last step off the cliff and jumped into the water. When we swam back up to the top we saw everyone running into the water towards us. JJ pulled me into him and I wrapped my legs around his waist just as John B reached us and tackled both of us under the water.

After we all swam and mucked around in the water the girls all dried off on the sand while the boys went to make a bonfire and start cooking the skate JJ and I caught earlier for dinner. I watched my friends as they were all having fun and joking around with each other and whilst I wish I was sleeping in a bed tonight, I am so happy to be here with them and for us to all just be together. I don't think I ever want this to change, but one day we will be rescued; I just hope that day is far away.
