Backstory: He was an orphan in Hage Village born with magic known as dragon slayer magic. His dragon/mentor/father figure/spirit taught him how to properly use this power and teach everything he can.

Dragon Slayer Magic: Dragon Slayer magic allows the user to use abilities of dragons and when he consumes a Magic it gets stored within themselves and the grimoire allowing him to make variants of his magic using those magic attributes he consumed
Other elements will come but not often used also gains Devil Dragon slayer magic a type of magic that can kill dragons but also devils later in the story
