Chapter Three:

Loopty Loop

Hitoshi and Midoriya have been walking in awkward silence. Hitoshi has no clue what to say, what to talk about. What's he supposed to say, ‘hey, the guy that you admire so much is actually a bastard, please see the truth’? Yeah, no that's definitely not going to work. He doesn't know what he should do. Especially since he knows this kid but absolutely does not…? It's fucking weird and it's making his brain hurt like everything else today.

“So– so, you want to go to UA too?”

Apparently Midoriya is going to save them from this horrid silence. Thank fuck.

“Yeah. I… I want to be a hero. Fuck whatever anyone else says.”

Hitoshi's moms are the only ones who believe he can become a hero. And maybe Midoriya. Everyone else is vehemently against the very thought of the idea. But he doesn't care what anyone else says or thinks he'll be a hero regardless. Regardless of their hate. Regardless of their fear. With his scary ‘villain’s’ quirk he's going to be a hero. He's going to be a hero because that's just who he is. And they don't know him, they never took the chance to. He'll prove all of them wrong and show them just exactly who he is. Not a two-bit villain but a good hero. He'll show them what his ‘villainous weak’ mental quirk, spite, and a shit-ton of caffeine can do. How he'll use all of that including his brain to reach his goal, his dreams. He'll show them, he'll prove flashy ‘heroic’ quirks aren't everything. And maybe Midoriya Izuku can help with that.

“Me too! W– which I'm sure you already know,” he nervously chuckles. It's silent for a bit again until, “But… Yeah, fuck whatever anyone else says.”

Hitoshi sends a smirk his way and comments, “I'm corrupting you already I see.” The two share a short laugh before he is speaking again, “We should probably start training if we want to get into UA.”

Hitoshi can't believe he was going to try and coast by with just his quirk. That was his very flawed and stupid plan before. That definitely wouldn't have helped him at all. He'd be just like those with ‘heroic’ quirks. Honestly how did he think his scrawny, noodle arm having beanpole self was going to make it into THE UA. He feels utterly stupid thinking that would be the case. But after what just happened with Bakugou… What that human Mankey said. Hitoshi hates to say he's right…but he is. Hitoshi is nothing without his quirk. Unless he does something about it that is.

“Oh! Y– yeah probably! Do…do you want to train…together?”

“Sure. Here let me have your number.”

“Oh. Oh, okay!” Midoriya stops and scrambles to get his phone out of his pocket.

Hitoshi takes a few steps ahead before he turns back towards him. While waiting for Midoriya's phone which he's seemingly unlocking. Hitoshi sees the manhole burst open. A living DIY slime project crawls out and speeds straight at them.

“Run!” Hitoshi yells as he reaches out to grab the other boy. “MIDORIYA!!”

But it's futile as the sludge villain swallows Midoriya up. Hitoshi's breath is knocked out of him as he stares wide-eyed at the horrific scene above him. Midoriya in the clutches of living sewer sludge. What does he do? He needs to do something but what? Why can't he move? The villain is saying something but it's all muffled to him. He tears his eyes away and looks to Midoriya. He's being drowned on land, struggling. Terrified light indigo meets equally terrified but watery deep viridian. Hitoshi doesn't even think he just opens his mouth.
