Chapter 3: Family

Huge time skip.....

Anya and Quinn, both had successfully managed to pass the entrance exam.

Quinn had scored the highest among the other students whereas Anya........somehow survived.

Quinn was a clever and could grasp anything in just one glance. In other words she had a photographic memory.

Lydia and Quinn got along very well and would often fool around with each other.

They even went to meet Anya and Loid once a week.

But Lydia and Loid were caught up in a crucial phase.

Eden Academy stated that both the parents of the students had to be present for the interview.

Quinn was alone at home while Lydia was walking in the park in deep thought.

She didn't know how to get married in a day.

Just as she was walking she bumped into someone and fell down.

"Oh, I'm sorry miss!" The person exclaimed.

Lydia looked up to see a handsome man standing in front of her.

He stretched out his hand for the woman to get up.

Lydia held his hand and analysed everything about him.

He was Yuri Briar. He was one of the few single men in the list Franky had given her.
He worked in the Department of Foreign affairs as per the records but both Loid and Lydia knew that he was a secret police. He was one of the men who hated spies in particular and saw them as a threat.

Loid had strictly told his sister to stay away from him but here she was, bumping straight into him.

"It's ok sir." Lydia said with her most appealing smile.

Yuri began to blush slightly at her.

"I am Yuri Briar by the way." Yuri held out his hand for Lydia to shake.

Lydia shook his hand and smiled.

"I am Lydia Forger. Nice to meet you, Yuri."

Then .........there was an awkward silence between them before Lydia spoke up.

"You are quite handsome Yuri." She fake blushed.

Yuri immediately turned red by that.

"W-What! I mean. Y-You too are v-very beaut-tiful Lydia." Yuri stuttered.

Lydia giggled at his silliness.

Just then Lydia's phone rang. It was Quinn. Lydia had given Quinn a phone to contact her just in case if she needed something.

Lydia excused herself and picked up the call.

"Hello Mother. Where are you??" Quinn asked.

"I'm in the park dear. Did you need something??" Lydia asked her daughter.

"Yes mother. Could please buy some spicy crisps for me??" Quinn asked.

"Yea sure. I'll buy it. Do you need anything else??" Lydia asked.

"No mother. Bye." Quinn said.

"Bye, Ninny" Lydia cut the call and turned back to Yuri who was impatient ti speak to her again.

"I'm sorry, my daughter just needed something." Lydia said.

Yuri's face dropped. He was disappointed to know that she was a mother.

"So....You are married??" Yuri asked out of disappointment.

"No, I'm not. You see, I am a photographer. I saw that Ostania was a beautiful place and perfect for my profession and also my brother lives here with his daughter. So, one day I came out at night to capture a picture of the beautiful surroundings when I saw a few men kidnapping a girl. She was an orphan and was only 12 years old. Clearly she couldn't save herself. So I went and fought with the men and saved the girl."

"Ever since I adopted her and named her Quinn. You see, she is a very smart girl and deserves to go to Eden Academy. She even passed the entrance exam. But, unfortunately for the interview Eden requires both the parents. I so happen to be unmarried. I wish I could get married to a handsome young man today itself to fulfill my daughter's wish. But, who would like to marry me." Lydia said dramatically.

She has turned her back to Yuri for more dramatic effect but when she turned around she was stunned.

Yuri was crying. He was weeping loudly.

If only Lydia knew that her acting skills were so good she would have rather chosen to be an actress.

"Yuri....Why are you crying???" Lydia asked him softly.

"You are so great....You adopted a girl all on your own to protect her. Now you're even dedicating your life for her future... You are just like my sister." Yuri weeped and Lydia tried her best not to laugh.

"I will help you." Yuri said sniffing. He wiped his nose and put on a determined face.

He then grabbed both of Lydia's hands.

"I will marry you Lydia and I will keep both of you safe. I promise Lydy. I promise." Yuri said in a serious tone.

Lydia knew it was risky but nevertheless she agreed. Yuri's determination made her feel reassured that she would be safe.

"It would my pleasure to be your wife Yuri." Lydia said, this time sincerely.

Yuri realised what was happening and turned as red as a tomato.

"Would like to meet Quinn?? I'll introduce you to her." Lydia suggested.

Yuri nodded vigorously, still lost in his thoughts.

Lydia smiled.

She had finished one part of the mission. She now had a family and she was more than ready to initiate the plan.
