3: A Glimpse Of Connection

In the quaint town of willowbrook,where secrets whispered through rustling leaves and shadows danced along the cobblestone streets, Riley and Ivan's paths crossed once more. Each encounter left them spellbound, the air tinged with the promise of something more.

After their brief encounter at the school event, Riley and Ivan couldn't shake the feeling of curiosity about each other.
Riley often found herself daydreaming about Ivan's mysterious smile and kind eyes, while Ivan wondered about the girl with the captivating presence.

In the following days, they began to notice each other more often in the small town of willowbrook. Sometimes they'd pass each other on the streets, or catch a glimpse of one another in the local market.
Each time, their heart skipped a beat, but they were too shy to say anything.

Riley did ask Nuha about Ivan again. She hesitantly asked Nuha, "so..um..who's this Ivan guy we saw on that function?"
Nuha gave her a look and said, "aha! You interested in him?" Now Riley was nervous, "do I look like am interested?" That sounded like rude reply to Nuha.

"Well..um..you sound like that baby girl."
"Whatever, that's Bullshit. Now say who's that weird guy, seemed like you knew him." Riley liked to give suspence to others, but others giving her suspence wasn't something she liked.

"So..he is..um..you know Rowan?" Riley didn't understand why the topic is changing to Rowan. "Please..ugh..now don't start talking about him, its not the right time. Soon my ears are gonna start bleeding..ughh"

Nuha had a huge crush on Rowan for over year. She always shares her feelings with Riley. But Riley sometimes over reacts like always, but that's something Nuha always likes and laughs about. "Enough enough miss Riley" says Nuha with a weird tone. Riley starts to laugh.

"Ugh why do I even say all the thing to you, Riley, there are so many others who like to listen to my interesting talks." Riley laughs out louder this time.
Nuha threw a pillow on Riley's face. "I keep your talks safe sissy"

"Whatever Whatever " Now they both were laughing.
"Yeah so came to the point my dear," she wanted to know so badly.."ha..so..Rowan and Ivan are cousins." OK, that was unexpected, that too from Nuha's mouth. That's something interesting now.

"So..um..you know him personally?" That was something fast. "Nah, don't you think he's attractive?" Riley needs to put an end to this conversation before it goes somewhere where it shouldn't. "Nah. I don't think so his attractive blah blah.." Riley grabbed her things and went out of the room. Nuha gave her a weird look before Riley left.

Riley made the decision to stop thinking about Ivan. Hope so she does. But still she ends up thinking about him, the way he saw her. Those eyes.

Of course Riley have seen Ivan before that function, but she have seen him many years back. After all its willowbrook, where everyone knows everyone.
