"Are you sure this is the right place", Cora said as she stared at the house. "Luke said this was his house", Arabella reassured her. "I will laugh if this isn't the right house and it's some old guy", Cora said as they walked up to the door. They all stood there motioning for someone to knock. "You guys are so pathetic", Hadley finally said as she knocked on the door. Cora anxiously tapped her fingers against her leg, fearing the worst. She looked over at Arabella noticing she was just as anxious or even more. She knew Arabella was afraid that Luke's mom wouldn't like her.
The door opened as a dog ran out the door, quickly jumping on the girls greeting them. "Molly, come here", Liz said as she looked at the girls apologetically. "She gets a little too excited", She explained as she pushed Molly behind her. "It's okay, I love dogs", Arabella said, smiling.
"Do you guys want to come in before we all melt from the heat", Liz said, jokingly as she moved to the side allowing the girls to walk in. The girls walked in rolling their suitcases behind them. "So Luke has told me your names but who is who?", Liz asked as she lead them to the living room. "I'm Arabella", Arabella said, "The red head is Cora", she said pointing at Cora, "and that's Hadley", she said pointing to Hadley.
"Luke said when they all arrived he was going to show us the where our hotel is", Cora said randomly, making sure Liz didn't think they were just going to take over her house. "Have they boarded already?", Liz asked. "They should be here in an hour or so", Arabella spoke up, remembering Luke texting her saying so. Hadley kept quiet staring off at the floor. Arabella nudged her, knocking her out of her trance. They all stared at each other awkwardly before Liz decided to get up. "Do you girls want anything to eat or drink?", She said as she made her way to the kitchen. "I wouldn't want to intrude-", Arabella started before Cora decided to cut her off, "Can you make spaghetti because Luke has told us it's really good". Cora jumped up following Liz to the kitchen as they started talking about her infamous spaghetti.
Arabella tapped her fingers against the back of her phone; one of her many anxious tics. She fought between saying something to Hadley now or not being able to unless, she pulled her aside. "Hadley..are you okay?", Arabella said slowly, looking at her. "Yeah", Hadley said hoarsely before coughing to clear her throat. She looked up at Arabella and gave her a half hearted smile. They both heard Cora's loud laugh followed by her loud voice exclaiming, "No way, really?. Arabella felt a twinge of jealousy knowing that her and Liz were clicking better. After all, you always want your mom's approval of girls. Or is that just for girlfriends?
"Anyways,", Arabella started, "you don't seem okay. Is it you and Calum?", she said quietly, not trying to start a scene. "I'm fine, really, I'm just in one of those weird moods, you know?",Hadley lied, giving Arabella a small smile. Arabella seemed to believe it as she nudged Hadley in the shoulder. "Lighten up some, we are technically on vacation. Enjoy it while it lasts", She said as she got up. "I'm going to the kitchen to get to know Liz before Cora becomes her favorite", Arabella joked as she walked into the kitchen.
Hadley waited till she was sure they were all talking to each other before she pulled out her phone. She knew the boys had wifi on the plane as they all flew first class. She scrolled to Ashton's number before tapping on their conversation. She quickly pulled up the text box as her fingers tapped on the keyboard. She hit send and deleted their conversation. If anyone were to read it they would both be dead.
