Diana’s POV

I had just stepped off of my plane from a long and frankly exhausting 12 hour flight from my home in England all the way to America, specifically along the east side.

My long chusnut hair had been in a messy bun the whole trip but I finally decided to let it down and give my scalp a break.

I was heading to a very remote town for my best friend Liliana’s wedding, though I just called her Lily. We had grown up together and for most of our lives even lived together as roommates, she took a different career path to me. She chose gardening and the study of plants and wolf life, I chose medicine like my parents.

Though I’ll admit I had a passion for textiles and fashion, including costume design and even cosplay outfits, I made a pretty penny off of my craft outside of my job.

Though I couldn’t do it too often, being a surgeon didn’t leave me with a lot of spare time, I was young for a qualified trauma surgeon, my parents had been teaching me the basics since I was a child. I managed to join a prestigious university when I was 18, finishing my studies and field experience in 6 years making me 24.

Since my parents owned their own hospital I was hired quickly since they knew my skills.

I had a few years of proper work under my belt making a skilled and young surgeon at 27, much younger than some of my coworkers, that Alone gained me some resentment.

Though unknown to them, there was a reason I, without sounding too egotistical, was much more intellectually smarter, biologically speaking at least, I had to thank my genetics for my smarts.

Dina: I've landed finally, you owe me a coffee, there’s only one person I’ll fly 12 hours for, you’re lucky I love you.

Lily: ahhhh finally! I’ve been waiting all day for you to land! I was staying at a hotel nearby so I could pick you up! Head to the front!

Lily: and yes I’ll buy you that coffee, since you travelled oh so far and wide for just little old me!☺️

Dina: you better have comfy car seats or I swear I’ll break your big toe so you can’t walk right for a few weeks.

Lily: such hostility from my big sister 😔

Dina: oh don’t pout you big baby, I brought you gifts remember? 😌

Lily: Suddenly all is forgiven! Now hurry up I’m dying to see you!

I chuckled at my phone before rolling my eyes a little bit. I had known Lily for around two decades at this point, which is why I was so comfortable in sharing my deep secret with her.

You could call me a ‘vampire’ I guess

Crazy I know? As far as I’m aware at least it might be some sort of genetic mutation, that’s what my parents told me growing up at least, I had to consume blood though I could also eat other foods, but I needed blood.

I possessed increased speed, healing, strength, my natural senses were stronger too, I had mild control of my abilities just enough so they wouldn’t bother my everyday life and were under control. Sunlight wasn’t deadly to me but I did burn easily, crosses had no real effect on me though.
