Diana’s POV
We had travelled back in an almost consistently awkward silence, I couldn’t bring myself to talk to him, that night with that poor man still playing in my mind constantly, it was awful and the guilt was eating me up inside.
Though at some point during the flight I found myself falling asleep, my head rested on something warm and firm, it felt nice.
But I couldn’t sleep for long, my mind was like it was in overdrive right now and I couldn’t handle it, it was exhausting, but I suppose the few hours of sleep I was getting was good for me, it helped when my mind wasn’t racing.
We had stopped by my parents place, they were still sleeping, I don’t know if I could look them in the eyes right now, I don’t know when I could, I just couldn’t face many of these new problems right now, I felt pathetic and stupid but I just didn’t know how to face it all.
I packed some more clothes, I know Lily still had my bag, at least I hoped so, I just grabbed more of my personal belongings because I was sure I would be staying there for a while.
I wrote a note for my parents that night.
“Dear mum and dad.
I’m ok, I know this is sudden but I had to leave, things are changing with me and I had to leave, but I am safe, and when I’m better I’ll be home again, I couldn’t risk you being hurt because of me.
You took me in and I couldn’t be more thankful, I love you both, so very much.
You can still text and call me, I promise I’ll keep in contact, but there are things happening to me and around me that are so out of my hands that I needed help. Please understand I’m doing what I think to be the right choice, trust me.
I’ll be home as soon as I can.
Love, your daughter, Diana.
I love you both”
I left the paper on my parents' fireplace, I know my father is very careful with keeping everything clean and tidy so I know he’s noticed it.
Leaving home made me feel guilty.
I was leaving them after everything they had done for me, and I couldn’t stand the pain I knew I would see in my parents eyes.
That constant thought and a persistent anxiety kept playing on my mind the entire time we travelled towards this ‘pack’ again, just staring out the window of the back seat, we drove in a black SUV like car.
I had turned off my hearing, I think a few hours ago, I just didn’t want to, it felt overwhelming.
What was i going to do here? Was I going to be trapped here forever? Would I get hurt again? Was I some kind of prisoner? Axel had said he wasn’t going to hurt me but that was honestly hard to believe after everything.
Was Lily going to be mad I ran off from her?
What was I going to even do here? What was I going to do with my life moving forward, it was all a mess now.

I hadn't realised we had arrived till someone put their hand on my shoulder, I was snapped out of my thoughts and my very much needed silence by a tingling sensation in my shoulder. It scared me honestly, it always did when I simply turned off my hearing, it made me feel on edge and I could have jumped out of my skin from it.
I immediately snapped my hearing back on and almost felt overwhelmed with the sounds around me, the engines, the talking, the wind, the natural sounds of the forest, the distant buzz of the pack community.
