|Jisoo|
For the rest of the night, Jennie doesn't ignore me per se but she isn't entirely focused on our conversations.
"Jennie, do you think they designed Simba's mane to reflect the '90s young guy hair trend?" I ask.
She hums and says, "I think so."
I shrug and then when he roars at the end of the movie, I turn to Jennie and say, "Do you think we can go to the zoo and see actual lions?"
She hums and says again, "I think so."
So I finally just wait until the movie is fully done before turning to her and saying, "Jennie go get some sleep."
She turns her head to me. "What?"
"Sleep Jennie," I say with a chuckle and she shakes her head.
"Sorry...I....I didn't want to ignore you again but my mind is preoccupied."
I smirk. "I can tell." I soften my expression. "Go sleep on it. I'm sure you'll feel better in the morning."
Jennie nods slowly and says, "I'll tell you....tomorrow. Right now...." She gestures to her head. "Everything is jumbled and I'm remembering too many memories at once. It's getting difficult to focus on things."
"Do you want to eat dinner?" I ask with worry. "It could be because you're—"
She presses a hand to my shoulder, warmth immediately spreads through my body. "I'll just eat cereal. I'll be okay." She grabs the remote and says, "I don't know about '90s hair trends but I know that Lion King 1 is based off Hamlet and Lion King 2 is based off Romeo and Juliet."
I gasp. "Seriously?! That's so cool! Can I watch the second one and then go to bed?!"
She nods with a smile. "Yes. I'll be up for a bit. Tell me when you're done and I'll put you in sleep mode."
She moves around on the screen and plays the second movie as I happily bring my legs up and cross them.
She stands up and holds my cheek. "Goodnight Jisoo."
I smile at her and she goes to her bedroom down the hall.
I drop my smile and I stare her closed bedroom door, worrying about her.

In the morning, when Jennie comes to my room to wake me up, she sits down on the edge of the bed and I see the dark circles under her eyes.
"Jennie," I start. "You should have gotten sleep."
She nods slowly and says, "I know but.... I need to tell you."
I nod and sit up.
Jennie takes a deep breath and says, "Jisoo's parents and mine don't know that she's passed away because....they weren't the best people. They cut off all contact with us the moment we ran away together. Nayeon is my younger sister. She's 30 and I'm happy she's getting married but if she got my parents to invite me to something home with my wife, then I have to go. Something is either really wrong or my parents had a change of heart. I don't believe the second option because I haven't spoken to them since I was 20." She looks away to her hands in her lap. "I miss my sister. I don't have pictures of her and I never had them saved but I miss her and I want to go to her wedding. I'm just afraid of what my parents might think."
"What would they think?" I ask. "So what if they're homophobic? It's their flaw not yours. If they truly loved you, then they would love you for yourself, no matter what gender you like."
Jennie rubs her forehead. "I guess they were just disappointed mostly because they had big plans for me—"
"And you liking girls came in the way of that?" I ask with a frown.
