|Jisoo|
I told Taeyang that Jennie wasn't feeling well and took her home.
The car is still in towing so we took the bus home.
Jennie wasn't in a good mood so I tried to not push her. We sat side by side and she stared out the window while I stared at her. I kept my hand on hers comfortingly but she never spoke. She did however interlock our hands when we were halfway home.
We walked hand in hand back to the apartment and once we were safe inside, I told Jennie to go change her clothes.
And once she did, I brought her to the sofa and we both sat next to each other as I played Zootopia.
And now we are about halfway into the movie. Jennie curled up into my side with her head on my shoulder and her legs underneath her. I'm sitting criss-cross applesauce with one of my hands interlocked with hers and rubbing my thumb on the back of it.
I secretly try to look up Techtonics by myself but I come up with a black screen so I know Jennie filtered out searches for it. I don't have a phone and if I use anything else, she'll be suspicious and I want her to trust me. So I stay quiet and watch the movie.
Then I see the black panther lash out and chase the across the jungle. I widen my eyes. "WHAT THE FUCK?! I THOUGHT HE WAS NICE!"
"No Jisoo. He's—"
I press a finger to her lips as I tell her, "No spoilers!"
She smiles against my fingers and nods.
We watch the rest of the movie and when the ending comes I see Judy nearly die and then it's revealed to be Assistant Mayor Bellweather.
"WHAT?!" I shout. "But....But the prey...."
"It's based on racism Jisoo. It's a movie based on racism and explores the themes of coexistence. The movie introduces us to the animals in separate environments and Zootopia is a play on Utopia, a perfect place where no such discrimination exists. Zootopia is supposed to be a place free of racism or sexism or xenophobia, but in reality, life can't be that way. Nothing is ever perfect and humans will always fall more to evil than good."
I blink quickly and look back at the movie. "Wow. I can't believe they created such a deep Disney movie."
"Yeah," she says. "The newer ones don't really go that deep into that stuff. This movie used to be Original Jisoo's favorite movie as well."
I ignore that disappointment feeling and say, "I can see why."
And as we watch the movie come to an end, I ask, "So does Nick and Judy get together?"
She moves away from my shoulder. "No."
"Not even in animation? But it's not real. I think it would be cute," I say.
"They are two separate....types of animals. They can't be together."
I frown. "Why not? It's not like they have to do the Devil's Tango. They can be asexual."
She lets go of my arm and says, "But I'm not an asexual person."
I scrunch my eyebrows and frown in confusion. "Who said anything about you?"
Jennie starts to say something before stopping and shaking her head. "Never mind."
I nod and the movie stops as it comes to an end.
