Kelsey gets out of the cab with a backpack and her fresh black eye that her long brown hair is barley covering, arriving at Merlotte's looking for her cousin Sookie. Being in such a rush to get out of her ex's apartment she only could grab the absolute essentials, her phone, a few pairs of underwear, a couple outfits and the clothes on her back. Kelsey stepped out and got a few glances from the regulars of the town, she definitely did not fit in and looked a bit lost. She opened the door of the rustic little bar and was greeted by a red headed waitress.
"Your new! Let me get you a menu !" She signaled for Kelsey to follow her to the open booth.
"I'm Arlene and I'm going to be your waitress for today! Could I get you something to drink while you look over the menu?" She asked.
"Yeah, Jack Daniels, if you have it." Kelsey asked politely.
"Oh girl, it isn't even 11am! Musta' been a rough morning! I'll go get that for ya !" She laughed and walked away.
As Kelsey waited she listened to the people around her. Everyone had their eyes on her.
"Who is that girl?" "What girl lets herself get a black eye like that?" The judgements weren't nearly as painful as the actual injury. Kelsey didn't stop looking around for Sookie. Her server Arlene popped up with her drink.
"Here sweetheart, is there anything I can get you?" She asked super bubbly.
"I'm looking for Sookie Stackhouse, do you know her? Kelsey said boldly.
Before Arlene had the opportunity to respond, Sookie appeared from the back and was staring at Kelsey from a far before walking up to her.
"Kelsey, what are you doing here? Why do you have a black eye? Did Andrew do this ?" Sookie rambled off.
"Yes Sook, I'm fine but I left him, I need some place to stay though. Do you mind me staying with you for a few days tops? I promise, I just need a few days to get on my feet and I'll be out of your hair." Kelsey responded coldly.
"You don't even have to ask, of course you can! Let me tell my boss that I'm going to be leaving a little early and I'll bring you back to mine. I haven't seen you in 3 years, we need to catch up. Sookie responded excitedly.
Kelsey nodded as Sookie got up and went to talk to the guy with the brown hair behind the bar. You hear him as Sookie talks to him, all he can think about is how she is so pretty and how can she can let a dead man to be with her. Judgey Kelsey thought. Sook walked away and motioned for Kelsey to follow. She finished off her drink and followed her through the doors to get to her car. She approached Sookies bright yellow car and giggled. "Somethings never change huh Sook." She gets in the car and off to grans house they go.

"I cant wait to see gran, its been too long" She said.
"Kels, I'm sorry but nobody was able to get a hold of you. Gran was killed by a man that was trying to kill me. He broke in and got her while she was in the kitchen." Sookie said in an upset tone.
Kelsey grabbed her arm and saw the image that Sookie has engraved in her mind. Sook walked in and found gran in the kitchen. The image in Kelseys mind was too much to bear.
"We have a lot to catch up on then." Kelsey said while getting out of the car with Sookie to go inside.
Walking into the house felt weird without grans presence, nothing has changed the pictures still on the walls, the same scratches on the floor from when they were kids. They walked into the kitchen and Sookie poured Kelsey a glass of sweet tea and started debriefing Kelsey about what has happened in the past 3 years. 3 years is a long time to not see family and with a vampire boyfriend and a ex werewolf boyfriend as you can assume its been a whirlwind.
As nighttime approached Sookies boyfriend Bill, came to call on her. Kelsey was all ready for bed in her cousins sleep clothes, a camisole and a pair of shorts. There was a knock on the door and Kelsey answered the door seeing an unfamiliar man.
"Good evening ma'am, is Sookie around? I am her boyfriend Bill Compton." The man spoke in a old century dialect.
Kelsey opened the door more so Bill could come in and she yelled for her cousin to come downstairs. Sookie was all dressed up, to go out she presumed.
"Bill, this is my cousin Kelsey. She is going to be staying with me for a while." Sookie said grabbing her hand.
"Very nice to meet you Kelsey. That bruise looks new, are you okay?" Bill asked concerned.
"Haha it's that noticable huh?" She laughed off.
"Your eyes are piercing blue, its hard to not look at them. The bruise is blocking those eyes." Bill said trying to cheer her up.
Kelsey shrugged and responded "It'll heal, don't worry about it. You guys go have fun!" as she shooed them out of the house so she can get some rest after this long day. She went up to the guest room to get some shut eye while her cousin had a night on the town until god knows when.
